Yes you can get in

How do I know that? Well I am currently in Coronet City. Here are some tips that helped me. I don't know if they will work for everyone, but I will pass them on. While in the signup screen, when you hit a bad page or an error mesage, right click and use the back button and try again. Also, wait for the page to either load, give you an error or come up broken before backing up and trying again. Persistance eventually pays off. I believe the only screen you need to load on the first try is the credit card screen after you fill in your number (backing to that over and over eventually sent me to one of the earlier screens). Also, one tip for the former Everquest players. If you go to options-controls-keymap, you are able to load a new keymap that changes around the control interface to one very similar to Everquest's. I personally find it easier to use. Of course, many may prefer the SWG default settings. UPDATE: C-3PO posted this at 5:32 pacific: "Subscription server is back online. We're seeing a fair amount of traffic going through it now. We will likely be seeing more problems, but different ones and less dramatic. I'll keep you updated."

Thanks for posting about Mozilla. I had never heard of it but it worked like a charm, I am downloading the patch after being unsuccessful using the regular launchpad for about six hours. Give it a try guys.

He isn't, he's pulling everyones leg.

He's full of crap.

It's good to see people out there spready mis-information about stuff instead of really trying to help people.

it's nice to know you automatically assume I'm full of crap because YOU can't get it to work, I just downloaded mozilla-win32-1.3.1-installer.exe so version 1.3.1 I installed it as browser only and proceeded to function just fine.

And for those who think I'm full of crap here is a screenshot of my desktop with patcher ready to play and me writing this message...

So to you Sgant, as an old television persona used to say, kiss my grits (motherf*****) well ok I added the part in the ()'s

Just reinstalled Mozilla, I uninstalled everything including the mozilla folder.

Reinstalled your version...which isn't even the latest version and wham...

same exact errors....6 hours now of the same exact errors.

it's not working. have tried it 100's of times and its not working. you're the only person in the world I guess where it's working.

Notice no one else here got it to work either?
RE: Mozilla works
# Jun 26 2003 at 6:56 PM Rating: Decent
Sorry but others HAVE got it to work... It sucks that they can't get their act together but it worked for me and for other people so it's worth trying, I'm sitting on Tatooine right now in Mos Entha surveying, not a soul in sight.

LOL why is it your screenshot says Microsoft Internet Explorer at the top? I thought Mozilla was supose to replace IE?
RE: Mozilla works

Maybe he switched back to IE to post here???? He does have the mozilla icon in his quick toolbar if you look. IE works fine on Allakhazam.
RE: Mozilla works
# Jun 26 2003 at 8:15 PM Rating: Decent
Anonymous is correct, I have mozilla installed, does that mean I like how it displays a lot of pages... it adheres to true HTML instead of the IE specific codes used at a LOT of sites... and well I prefer seeing things how they were intended to be seen and not how a strict HTML ruleset allows them to be seen.

Mozilla is a tool like any other, you don't always use the same tool for every job... Unless you youself are a tool =P
mozilla

well I guess I am glad my copy will not arrive until monday. I was pretty upset that I was not going to play until monday, but it looks like Im not even close to the only one.

You know, speaking as a beta tester for this game and EVE I am suprised a big game like this did not beta the whole account setup and credit card thing like EVE did, heck that is all I did for a full day with EVE......
USE MOZILLA
# Jun 26 2003 at 6:03 PM Rating: Decent
I can not take credit for this, but if you use Mozilla www.mozilla.org to go to https://swgbl.station.sony.com/launchpad/subscription.jsp

the process takes two minutes to do. I am patching now. Thank you to the person on the SWG offical boards.

Try it, it works!
RE: USE MOZILLA
# Jun 26 2003 at 6:09 PM Rating: Decent
doesn't work either. I get the same exact errors that I get from using the SWG pad...same exact errors.

I'm using the latest version of Mozilla.

Same exact errors.

Exactly.

It can work. Mozilla has longer timeouts for most values related to web based communication. IE gives up really easily, mostly to reduce server load on IIS servers...

anyhow, no matter what tool you use, doesn't stop the tidbit that soe's registration servers are utterly borked.

and they posted messages saying "umm should be getting better soon".

all re-inforcing my belief that none of the people involved with this project have every dealth with an MMO before...

somehow I doubt that, else you'd be there already.

I've been trying for 6 hours on and off with mozilla, IE and SWG....nothing works.

So don't tell me that it works for you, because it's the exact same thing as everything else. Also, you wouldn't be here posting things, you'd be playing the game.

Tell me another one.

Sgant Im surveying in Mos Entha right now on Flurry, if you don't beleive me I just dont' care anymore.. you saw my post with the screenshot of my desktop and launcher ready to run.. if you don't beleie it.. your unwillingness to beleive me doesn't matter anymore, I'm busy playing the game now.
I'M IN!!!!

After five hours of trying.

What worked for me: using a clean, new install of Mozilla to register. Check the tech support BB, or my soon-to-be-posted note in the forum, for details.

It's worth a shot. Got me on in five minutes. Seriously.

What another sad launch effort by SOE. 2 announcements now on the main page, totally understating the problem, trying to make it out to be less than it actually is. Sad

Well, I can get to the agreement screen, and I accept, and then it says that there's been an error. I made it to the credit card screen once.

I believe the only screen you need to load on the first try is the credit card screen after you fill in your number.
__________________________________________________

what does that mean?.....I have gotten to the CC screen 3 times, inputted my CC# 3 times, clicked submit, and every time "Page Cannot Be Displayed".....Have I been charged 3 times?!?!?!?!
RE: CC charges???
# Jun 26 2003 at 7:14 PM Rating: Default
Probably not. There would be a message confirming it. If it is charged 3 times, ha. I must have been charged about 20 or so :(. And I'll be damned if this is the case.
