Last week, the developers and artists for Dungeons and Dragons Online discussed Demon Territory in their Art of Shavarath series. This week's entry focuses on the Floating Citadels of the Archons as the team takes us further into the Plane of Battle. Here's the description of the Citadels straight from the designers:

"The Archon Host swoops down from mighty floating Citadels, delivering their righteous fury to the wicked. Since General Horoth’s rise to power, the Citadels have become a rare sight in the skies of Shavarath. The Archon’s losses have created disarray among their leadership."

The archons are Lawfully Good, so the team used gold and browns to reflect their demeanor. They also "combined classic Greco-Roman architecture with Middle Eastern accents, and even subtle Egyptian influences." While archons uphold their ideals, that doesn't mean they'll be friendly to outsiders, including players.
