Blizzard poster Eyonix has started a poll on the official World of Warcraft forum asking players to select their favorite battleground. The poll ends on April 14, so you have some time if you'd like to participate.

Currently, Alterac Valley is currently in the lead with 35.46% of the votes, followed by Arathi Basin with 29.65%. Warsong Gulch is in third with 19.15% and Strand of the Ancients has 10.64%. Eye of the Storm is in last place with 5.11%.

So what's your favorite battleground and why? In the same vein, what's your least favorite battleground?

I hate warsong gulch. Why? Because it's the only battleground that has no mechanism built in to limit the duration of a battle. You can easily be in there for an hour, only to wind up on the losing team for 1 token and negligible honor. Every other BG has reinforcements, time etc to limit the duration.

That's a good point, and as far as that goes it depends on what level you are on. I'm on level 80 with 100 Basin and Gulch Marks that I will never use. They should include battleground specific rewards for all levels that you can purchase with the marks, at least potions elixirs or some sort of special food.

Does anybody know how the hell you become exalted in WSG? I've played it more than any other battleground and I'm barely honored. Played Alterac Valley about 1/4 the time and I'm well past revered.

At level 80 wg is the only bg you can use marks to get anything specific and that's a small selection. At lvl 80 bg marks are pretty much useless for all but the repeatable quest to turn them in for honor. I've stopped doing pvp now. I don't like arena and there's really little point doing pvp now unless you want to do arena since you can't get any decept pvp rewards without arena.

old AV was great. the fights at the field of strife, summonings, games that lasted longer an hour or more. it seems as if now its just a race from one end of the map to the other.

I would say AV, a lot of people don't like it because it takes a long time to play and on average about 30 minutes in queue to even get into the BG, for the most part on my server AV is dominated by Horde, which I play so that's probably what makes it more fun, but I do like it because you get more honor per round even if you don't win than with most of the other BG's.

I play Alterac Valley only for the greater honor point reward. I play Horde and on my server, either we are hopelessly outmatched (40-25 is very common), or end up having to hear a bunch of retarded arguments between our own players.

My order is Arathi Basin, Warsong Gulch, Eye of The Storm, Aleterac Valley, Strand of the Ancients. That's based mostly on the probability of us actually having even teams and fighting a competitive battle. I haven't really played SotA much but I don't really just don't enjoy the whole siege engine warfare theme at all- or fighting on the dragons for that matter (and of course the first half of the Ulduar raid involves... siege engine warfare :/).

On my server (and battleground by extension), AV has 40 horde and 20 alliance when the gates open. And that's prime time.

If you want a shot at winning on alliance, you have to preform it.


On the flip side, horde loses strand 95% of the time, and get screwed from the start due to a supposed bug.

Least fav is hands down WSG. If it wasn't for the 40 to 22 like the previous poster mentioned I would prob say AV (well that and the 30 min queue times now and the fact the marks are useless past lvl 70).

I better hush on the useless part or blizzard will "Fix" that problem by requiring them for something and I will be stuck losing X games due to uneven games over and over again lol.

Maybe the people voting for it aren't stuck on a server where they're constantly out-numbered 40-22.
