2nd Video Documentary Discusses Story, Setting

The LucasArts and BioWare teams have released a second video documentary outlining how story and setting will play an important part in Star Wars: The Old Republic. Tom Nichols, the senior director for online games at LucasArts, explains that story and setting are focused on because they "provide greater immersion for the player."

Mary Bihr, the LucasArts vice president of publishing, said you'll basically be creating your own Star Wars saga in the game, noting that "the story that unfolds is the story you create." The team also discussed how various themes, such as salvation and destruction, will transfer from the movies to the MMO. And since the game is set 300 years after Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and thousands of years before the films, there's a lot of new stories to explore.

In addition to the broad story arc of Jedi vs. Sith, each class will have its own separate, unique storyline to pursue. The team emphasized that each class' story arc would be as detailed as an individual BioWare game. The team also wants players to have an emotional connection the world.
