DDOS Attack

We apologize for the downtime last night. We had a denial of service attack directed against us and are just now back to being operational.

ADDENDUM, Saturday:
The attacks have since been escalating. We, the techie types, have been working collectively pretty much around the clock to try and combat this. We're not sure how long the attacks will continue on our site, but we're working on bringing the site back up consistently and up to speed as hard as we can. We apologize for the problems everyone's been having, and hope you all can bear with us as we try to solve this.

No Trojans, please! OMG, that would suck if this site went the way of ffxi.cannotlinkto. I rely on this site for EVERYTHING (except maps with coffer locations, wtf alla). I've had friends refer countless other sites, but none compare with my home sweet home.
Trolls?

I wonder if this is an attempt from one of the many banned trouble makers (GR?).

That guy has a huge chip on his shoulder and thinks that everything that doesn't kiss his feet deserves to be attacked.

1)That person probably doesn't know enough to do it
2)If he so much as visits Alla he's subject to swift legal action much less DDoS it.
#REDACTED, Posted: Feb 24 2008 at 1:32 PM, Rating: Unrated, (Expand Post) How truly unfortunate to be on the receiving end of something like DDos's. Here is to hoping things get better for you all soon.
Coordinates
# Feb 24 2008 at 12:48 PM Rating: Decent
Do you have the coords for the attacks? Just the coords, people. :)

(Seriously, I'm glad the site is back.)

Well being a DDoS I wouldn't be surprised if the "main" point of it was to plant a trojan somewhere being that this site is highly visited. Just my two gil though.

Keep up the good work at repelling these attacks. I hope the people responsible for sending these attacks are found. Don't know how easy it will be if it was down through spyware through unsuspecting computers, but I hope it can be done.
Thank You

I hope they finish soon - having to use second best to get information is a pain. Thank you for battling on. It really is appreciated, the site is appreciated, your subscription, after WoW itself, is my most important, to support your work.

:O Track it down and send your own DDoS attack >_> Biological warfare err.. Technological Warfare? FTW!?

I blame it on WoW btw. They are jealous of our betterness and awesomeness.

I wouldn't put it past the competition to have something to do with this. A decent amount of people are leaving games like WoW for their previous games when they get bored or sick of all the immature types.

I hope this whole DDoS thing blows over very quickly. Alla seems to be one of the last true havens of the EQ populace.

I can't speak on behalf of the company but I'm sure if legal action is necessary Allakhazam will make sure action is swift. That said; thanks for being so patient with us! :)

it seems crazy that decent sites that only try to help are subject to these stupid attacks , my guess if any are doing these attacks alone it is someone that has been upset by replies they got to their comments here .

The one good thing is your Tech guys will have learnt a little i hope on how to stop fools from doing it again , The only trouble is the better programmers get the better the hackers get.

good luck on keeping the site up , i very much miss it when i am hunting for clues as to where i need to go
