Age of Conan Producer and Director, Gaute Godager, has posted a new State of the Game on the AoC website.  Of particular interest is the news of what beta has weeded out of the game!

Apparently beta players weren't having fun with loosing control of their avatar with the Global Forced Player Formations feature.  So that one's out.

Classes seeing a change are the Lich is now the Necromancer and the Stormcaller is now the Scion of Set, renamed to be the Tempest of Set.  While the word merge is being used, you might want to take a close look at what they kept, and what is being pushed aside, as these classes make their way to the finish line of launch.

Prestige classes are also taking a dive, but the reasons behind it are explained in depth.

While faith in the rightness of the decsions may be a bit hard to come by just now, I know that these guys are truly making the best decisions they can for the game.
