EQ for the Pocket PC

OK. For all of you addicts, fanatics, and die-hards, by Thanksgiving you'll be able to take EQ with you wherever you go...if you own a Pocket PC that is. Yep, Verant/Sony is moving into the small neighborhood too and will be peddling its EverCrack, err, EverQuest, in a miniature, watered-down dosage, ummm, version. You will play one of four heroes in the first episode, defending Freeport from the orcs and undead who are invading the city. In the subsequent episodes, 2 & 3 (which will be doled out at later dates to keep you on the edge of your addiction), you will have the option of continuing with the same character or start a new one each time. Of course, this is a stand-alone game (a single dose) and you won't be playing in the ever-changing, persistant world of the online version (the intravenous dosage), but you'll be able to sate your appetite throughout the day (whenever that terrible urge overcomes all reason) until you can get home, fire up the big boy, and plug into the pure stuff again. For more info and to view a trailer and some screenshots, visit the EQLive! site's EverQuest for the Pocket PC featured story. All kidding aside, this looks pretty interesting. What WILL they think of next?!
