Poster Sized Maps!

It all began with my wife continually getting lost when she's wandering around in the game. So, I decided to finally piece together a complete realm map for each realm. Well, after figuring out the technicalities with cafepress, I created full resolution 300DPI maps to print on poster-sized media. Then I got creative with the backgrounds, borders, and map legends. The end result was a map for each realm that is 6900 x 10500 pixels and weighs in at over 500 MB uncompressed. I ordered one of each realm for myself, and I must say that they print really dang nice. My wife is majorly happy with her new maps. Anyhow, since you can't seem to buy full sized maps anywhere, I've decided to open up the store to the public to let them buy the maps. I've only marked up the price a couple bucks, as I figured the base price of the printing process is already steep enough. As a side note, I do not use any Mythic registered trademarks on these maps, and I would appreciate if you do not call these DAoC maps if you choose to post a news item about this site. These are simple realm maps and are not specifically for Dark Age of Camelot per se. I'm simply trying to avoid gratuitously getting smacked over the head by a lawyer for using any trademarked names or brands. I've attached a 50% scale close-up of a small section of hibernia so you can see the detail of the maps. I'm really quite amazed how good the cafepress poster printers are... my wife's copies are down at Kinko's getting laminated. ;) Thanks for taking the time to read this, -Lokmar Iskaran http://www.cafepress.com/camelotmaps
