How to Win
We have a thread in the General WoW forums for the contest entries. All you have to do is post a response in the thread that states what you’re the most excited about in the new World of Warcraft: Cataclysm expansion. For example:

  • Playing as a Worgen.
  • All the new changes to old Azeroth. I can’t wait to see what it looks like!
  • The new talent changes. My class is going to be OP. QQ moar newbs.

We’ll be collecting entries for the next seven days, and on Monday August 2nd, 2010, we’ll be announcing all fifty winners of the giveaway and we’ll then send you your beta key for Cataclysm! It really is that simple. Just submit the part of Cataclysm you’re most excited about, and you're golden!

 

Please Note: You must enter your contest submission at the designated forum thread. Any comments on this article will not be counted as submissions.

 

Additional Note: Both Tankspot and Wowhead will be having their own beta key giveaways in the next few weeks, so make sure you check out our entire network family for all of your chances to win!

++ If you're an AddOn author WoWInterface has almost an unlimited number of keys to give away.

Rules and Qualifications

  • In order to use the beta key, you must have a WoW account in good standing.
  • Posts in the contest thread that are not contest submissions will be deleted.
  • Users may enter more than one Cataclysm item that they’re excited about, but only one entry will be counted per user.
  • We reserve the right to remove entries if we feel like you're not properly participating in the contest.
  • The contest begins on July 26th, and all winners will be announced on August 2nd, 2010.
  • The fifty (50) key winners will be drawn from the pool of eligible posters at the end of the entry period.

Tauren Paladins sound pretty rad, that's one thing I'm excited for. Also, jumping onto a brand new server (if there are any), or a beta server and creating an all Tauren Guild named 'The Herd'

It's having another go with Ragnaros!
Just reading about Ragnaros being an up to date raid-boss in Cataclysm triggers my nostalgia switch. I remember back in the days watching "A night in Molten Core" with Forte, it was my absolute favorite video of all time. And then later that year when i finally got to fight him face to face myself... the feeling was indescribable Epic. We never managed to defeat him tho, so im hoping to finally get my revenge in Cataclysm!

Im so exited about wow cata. Ive been playing wow for 4 years now and let me tell your this, ive never been more exited for a expansion like this one. Im realy Happy because in cata theres tons of stuff to make this game a revamped joy ride. Heres a couple things im exited to see in the new wow

Worgens are probaly my favriote new thing to come in cata. They are a awsome race and from a couple videos ive seen so far its one of the best starting zones.

Goblins are another thing im realy happy about. Ive been a ally player with about 7 ally toons and none horde. But the goblins seem interesting and its hard to say im gonna make and lvl a goblin to 80. ive never thought id join the horde but it looks like im gonna.

The raids in wow are a huge X factor for this game and makes it alot funner then other mmorpgs. Im realy happy to see the new Battlegrounds (bgs), Dungeoun and raids. I hope they have a feel of the past raids but have a more Cinematic, Awsome taste and experience xD

Quest hubs and exploring are another awsome thing i cant wait to do. Ive never realy been the Explorer type but i realy cant wait to go around and explore all the places ive been in the old world.

And ladys and gentelmen the moment youve been waiting for. Epic Flying in azeroth is the best new thing to come in cata IMO

In cataclysm i most excited about trying out the new focus system for hunters. I really want to give it a shot to see if its good or bad.
Im also excited about the worgen i have seen videos on youtube and the worgen starting zone is extremely impressive and i cant wait to give it a shot

MAN i have waited for this sooo long i cant wait anymore i cant wait for the new talents that there will be and THE 2 new classes WORGEN AND GOBLIN mna im crazy about this expanison for wow its going to be the best addon that came out for wow the only problem i have is that that the worgen is an ally and ive never been an ally b4 but hey u have to try something new ive been watching youtube vids about the worgen like crazy cause he is so cool looking but im also going to try and level a goblin they are the horde but they look fun and i cant wait cause im going to make a pally druid and htats going to be the sickest combo of all time i think but omg this expansion will be amazing i also cant wait to explore the 2 older areas with flying mounts and the watered down thousand needles this is going to be so much fun i really hope i gget a shot at the beta

Unlike most people ive been dedicated to 1 toon...well 2 since i got a lil bored lately. Well my main is a Hunter and i just cant wait for all the new changes with hunters. I think its been a long time comin with the issue of mana for hunters. Focus makes way more since and i cant wait to PvP with the changes. I think its gonna open my eyes to a whole new world!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh and i guess the new landscape is gonna be fun too......lol

There are lots of reasons I'm looking forward to Cataclysm...
Flying all over Azeroth, check. Updated/new quest chains, check. New delectable recipes to whip up while wearing Chef's Hat, check. Exploring the completely altered landscapes, check. But most importantly, being able to PvP with my Goblin against my niece's so-called "indestructible Worgen" and destroy her, check and check!

I'm looking forward to pretty much starting from scratch with my Moonkin, because that's essentially what we're doing. Blizzard had been aware for some time that we Boomkins, although no longer Oomkins, are having annoying problems with our eclipse. They are addressing this problem in Cataclysm, and I'm really looking forward to learning how to play our new moonkins. This, combined with the new talent trees, which will deeply affect our hybrid class, is the greatest of the many reasons I'm going to be chearing for Deathwing's sundering of Azeroth!
(Plus I'm still hoping they'll sneak in some nice new models for us :p)

I want to be able to convince blizard that what they have done with the gnome/dwarf starting zone is a bad move not only for the company but the players who love this MMO. They should remake it into a quest chain in which the gnomes take back Gnomeragon with tank and helicopters quests as well as a few of the standard kill quests<-(for the newer players) instead of doing a cookie cutter version of the original zone. My goal is to be the driving force behind making that zone one in which players can have fun doing quests that are interesting and fufilling no matter if you are new to the game or are rolling an alt. And if I succeed blizard have higher player retention rates and more satisfied players. But also they will have fufilled the promise, that they themselves stated, that the gnomes would get back gnomeragon and my pint sized terror would have a city to call his home, instead of bunking with smelly intoxicated brutes called dwarfs.

The dungeon difficulty, we need more challenge like the raid in the first wow! Where you needed skill and gear. In WOTLK, there was a lot of noobs doing ICC 25, just because they hace the correct gear. I hope the Cataclysm will be like the old one...

I'm looking most forward to how the areas will change from what they where since vanilla. Two new races will be a nice change of the game, epic flying in the old areas will be sweet. Over all it's all gonna be great!

im looking forward to exploring azeroth as its become differently constructed, with the fire effects and what not. the way the water effects look and the new land, and trees, etc.
I'm a long time wow player so itll be neat to see azeroth brand new.
