What's better for gold?
I used to farm crystallized fire near that weird cave on Storm pikes but they reduced their drop %.
So ive been thinking if there's any other good places for farming random loot, even White/grey equipment, those sell pretty good if you can get alot of em especially the weapons.

Or keep farming herbs or Ores (prospect it for gems) like the usual person to make money. Any thoughts?

I'm thinking gathering would be better; you're guaranteed to get something. You could try grinding relics of ulduar, maybe? Not sure how those sell any more. Near Chillmaw there are a bunch of cultists that drop decent silver, frostweave cloth, and recipes. I didn't make a lot there, but if you have a tailor/enchanter, you might be able to convert the cloth and disenchant it for valuable enchanting reagents.

What are your gathering profs? I love doing the Hodir quests on my hunter because he's miner/herb, so it can often take me hours to complete them because I'm essentially trying to get the quests done while gathering. Very efficient. Skinning is great up there too with all the jormungars getting killed in the cave and outside. If you're an engineer then grind the guardians and deconstruct them. It's hard to tell without knowing your gathering profs.

I would guess mining/JCing.

Yeah, I asked though because at this point in the game so many people have pure gathering toons. My hunter is mining/herb, and the OP said "keep farming herbs or Ores" so . . .

But yeah, your point is not lost on me.

Sorry for not specifying it was mostly a general question thing.
I had mining on my druid but since I had mining on my previous hunter I switched it to Engineering but I also have a warlock with Herbing.

So I can pretty much do both but i wanted to know what you guys though of one thing against the other :)

The thing is, economies can vary from server to server, as well as from day to day. Your best bet is to see what sells on your server, and maybe take a week or two and mopnitor different ores and herbs. Maybe take your herber & miner out and see which can get the most mats from different areas. Note what sells, and how easy it is to get. Sometimes the item that sells for the most gold (for example, titanium) is not easy to find, and thus will not net as much profit as something that sells for less per stack, but is easier to farm (saronite or cobalt). I personally prefer mining, but that's because I have a jewelcrafter and an engineer. The money I make from mats from either mining or herbing often sells for more than crafted goods I could make with them.

Also, bear in mind things may change from day to day, even on one server. If the raiding guilds on your server all raid on a Tuesday after maintenence, you may sell potions for profit on those evenings. You may find that crafter things sell better on a Friday night, when the "weekend warriors" run to the AH to gear up their characters. You may find that potions and other crafted items (like weapons & armor) sell for less than the cost of the materials, since people may be leveling their craft and trying to offload surplus.

Thus, I would suggest that only you can really determine what will be better, and only with a little effort in watching your realm's economy.

I'm gonna share a money maker with you all that has been wonderful for me...best part about it is it does not require a gathering profession.

In Sholazar Basin there is a spot known as the lost lands. If you did the quest chains you will remember visiting the Avatar of Freya, located at 65/48. Below her is a pool of water where lots of Bonescythe Ravagers spawn, as well as her servants. If you go to the east edge of this pool, more ravagers spawn on these 4 little grassy noles on the beach, out of freyas reach. (She likes to Pwn the ones that spawn in the pool every few seconds or so...). This is a great place to mindlessly make lots of gold. These ravagers carry gold, a ton of frostweave cloth, and the odd green, and they respawn so fast that its hard to ever be out of combat, and were talkin about an area maybe 25 yards by 15 yards in size...very small. I get an enchanter friend to d/e the greens and put the dust and frostweave on the AH. This, added with the gold and vendor trash I loot adds up to about 400-600 gold in ONE HOUR! I have a 450 miner and a 450 herber, but they cant make that kind of money for me in that little time.

Enjoy!

I just happened to be questing my way through there last night and ended up in that area. After a handful of quick respawns I just wanted to get out of there and get on with my speed-questing, so I can see where it would be a great grinding spot.
