Interest in a HighQuality LS on Shiva?Follow

Hi everyone!

The past couple of days, I've been trying to find a bonecrafter/smith to commission to make some Armored Arrowheads for me, to allow me a cheaper, quicker method of raising woodworking to 69. (BTW, there's still a vacancy, if you have ~50-60 in both skills and want to help out a fat galka.)

It got me to thinking, what sort of demand is there on Shiva for a crafting hub linkshell, much like the server-wide one they're working to create over at the "High Quality" forums? I know most of the more prolific and well-read players on Shiva frequent this forum, so I figure I'll gauge interest now, and if folks are interested, I can throw together a LS, and set up the appropriate forums on the HighQuality web site (assuming someone hasn't beaten me to it!)

HQ website for review: http://highquality.ffxiforum.net/

I don't like the idea of 'rules and requirements' and all that regimented jazz so much, though I'd think we'd have some general rules of etiquette (no begging, being pushy, or overall leeching). But how many folks would support the idea of having even a part-time linkshell in my mog house that I can turn to to get in touch with many high-skilled Shiva crafters looking for work/help others?

Post here with your thoughts or get in touch with me in-game. (Name is Pewter.) If a LS like this already exists, also let me know, as hey, I'm obviously interested. And finally, I'm 55 cooking, 60 woodworking, and 78 fishing (and both rising!), and would be happy to craft or catch whatever for folks in need, provided they supply the bait/materials, and I have some free time on my hands. (With football season, I've got oodles of free time. I'd say "Go Eagles!", but jeez, my karma..)

Thanks for reading! ;)

I like the sound of this, but i have to ask if this includes those of us who are trying to get into the whole crafting scene... would this LS include advice and support to people who are new to crafting that want to become crafting experts?

I think a crafting LS would be great. I know when I'm crafting I dont even talk to my LS because they just get anoying and its sometimes hard to find materials or where is the best place to get them.

A crafting LS would definitely be something I'd use.

BTW, I did my first HQ synth yesterday, too bad I was making silver ingots :( so nothing extra. But it was cool seeing the new visual and hearing the new audio and being like 'wtf was that?'

im kinda new in crafting and a craft LS would be a great help to me and others who are getting moving. I like the idea of a few ground rules and such. If u get this LS going i would like a pearl. Vapiant-Shiva-29WAR/12NIN

Well, the response so far as been fairly quiet, but I think word of mouth in-game could help a lot more, since only a fraction of the players on Shiva visit these forums. I'll be in touch with everyone in this thread soon.

I think having a LS is a bit overkill. What are you gonna do? Log in and talk about crafting all day? There's only so much to talk about >< And people wont leave their current linkshells, so they will probably equip the craft LS for 5 mins and unequip it ><

I like the idea of giving crafters a chance to network (for business reasons^^), but I have a feeling a LS will become a place where people spam questions all day and ask person X to make them item Y for Z cost. Question spamming should be left on forums^^

What's probably best is to have a place where people can just leave their name and skills. Kinda like a personal ad. "Hi, I'm Dasnor. LevelX in CraftY."

That way, if I need the services from a certain craft, I can just look up the database and PM the person to see if we can work out a deal. For example, I am a woodworker, and need some gems for elemental staves. I could just search the database for a goldsmith and work out a deal with him/her in the game.

Uh.. so I'm Dasnor, Level81+2 Blacksmith. Any Goldsmiths making cursed stuff? I can make you your ingredients cheaper than AH^^
