Well, based on the Allakhazam front page, it looks like Square is going to allow people to emigrate to three new servers that are being created. This brings up a few questions.

1) Is anyone planning on emigrating from Shiva? If so, why?

2) How quickly will Bobbyjai fill out his application? Humorous answers are acceptable. Smiley: grin

1. I actually was thinking about it, imganine being able to camp NM's without 10+ people camping each one. Establishing new AH prices, meeting others from different servers and possibly getting new tips. Then I think to myself, well I wouldnt want to leave all my friends on Shiva, so I guess the only way ill do it is if all my friends go also.

2. Lmao, I was thinking the same thing when I read that, Bobbyjai can actually get a fresh new start, well for awhile you know someone will transfer from shiva that knows of him, see him, and start bashing him on the new server, and eventually he will have the same credibility that he does on Shiva.

1. Not I, says the Punching Bag. Shiva was one of two servers that I wanted to get onto (more nostalgia than anything else, really). Now that I'm on, I'm not gonna leave, ever! Unless I get kicked out.

2. No comment... the Karma Kameleon is watching me.

I actually plan on leaving Shiva for some other server. I just cant stand all the players and all the ******** that goes on here anymore. Not to mention our outragous AH prices mainly driven by the greedy jp whores who think this is RL economy.

I see someone else is numbering themselves too. ^^

1.) I seriously contemplated it but like you I don't really want to leave the few good friends I have ingame. So I thought up an alternative of sending a mule and lvling it on the new server. Reason being the obvious attractions (virgin territory and all it's spoils ^^). I am still thinking about it though cause it would create some logistical issues I will need to resolve. Come to think of it, I will probably do it. FYI but the character I will be sending is Ceraphini (Mithra) if you are interested in sending a /tell in game. The reason I don't shift everything is simple. There is advantages to there being a preestablished AH. Everything is already on the market that can be on the market. You don't have to run around killing whatever nm/mob and/or raise your crafting skills to make what you want. There are already countless people to form parties with. I know many complain about having to wait hours at higher lvls on Shiva but the same will be so for lower lvls initially. Plus if you world shift a higher lvl character? /cringes

2.) I am sure this new server will have it's own european variety of scam artists and rude people. No need for Bobbyjai to try to fill the void; so to speak.

Additional Notes The only thing that really concerns me is the time zones. I live on the West Coast (Washington State, USA) and the other players will primarily be European. I am kind of wondering how hard it will be to game on the server (i.e. will I be gaming during the EU midnight).

1.) You think that the new worlds are going to be Japanese Player free? How do you think they showed up on 'our' servers? They had their own when the game was initially created and then SE created more for the NA release. Then (I believe) they created more for the PS2 release... and now they are creating 'more' for the EU release.

2.) ******** is everywhere. The new servers may be free of ******** for a while but given time it will be there too. What are you going to do then? hope for more worlds to be created?

3.) The AH is a real economy. If you understand the basic laws of economics you should understand that. For instance, there is no real economic difference from you complaining about the price for Chainmail and someone else complaining about the prices of perscription drugs. The only real difference is that in RL people can become Democrates and try to vote in Socialistic policies that has the government provide hand-outs for everything... instead in FFXI SE is the 'only' political party and they say 'tough toenails taranchella breath'; deal with it.

Plus! suggesting that only Japanese players treat it as a real economy and that all Japanese players are greedy is obviously a steriotype that you have created; and are forwarding as an actual factual concept. Which is erroneous concept in more ways than one.

Wow, someone took what i said a little too seriously and is also a little too obsessed with this game. It was just a generalization and not an attack on any single person.

LOL... you make a serious statement that may not be attacking any 'single' person but does attack 'multiple' people. Then in the next post you say you aren't serious and that I am obsessed with the game?

ok here is a better idea.

how about you a.) stop verbally attacking 'someone', 'something', or 'something', or whatever you want to call it, when their view counters your view. b.) actually know something about what you are talking about before you make a statement. (i.e. you have no clue who I am or how I live my life. you don't even know how much time I spend playing the game or even on these boards. Yet you felt 'comfortable' with stating that I am obsessed with FFXI) c.) look inside yourself for the answers you most obviously seek.

Plus! It is a sign of a weak mine to insult someone and then respond with 'I wasn't serious/ I was only joking'.

Personally, i think they need to allow people to pick what server they wish to emigrate to, and make a rule that the server you're goign to must be lower population than the one you're on (Like no going from say Shiva to Bahamut).. af for the complaints about the economies of the current servers, it's not just Japanese player that are greedy... ive' seen more than my fair share of NA players asking stupidly high prices for things... and out of the 3 times i've been asked to pay for a raise, they were all NA players.

I like shiva too much to move, but seeing as how there's a nice window to do the move in, i migh tend up getting pissed enuff at teh Shiva population to move, but that's highly unlikely. ^_~
not to mention that half the people i know on Shiva are from my local area (Rassius, Misakito, Bodil, you guys are the best!) and there's others that i've met that i like too (Rastigo & Arcos!!)

Shiva's my home, so you guys are stuck with me. ^_^

1.) Yes I verbally attacked you in response to your verbal attack on me. So what? Are you going to label me a hypocrit now? /em shrugs... Though I don't consider it as much of an insult sense I was quoting someone and making a 'general' statment; leaving you as the reader, the choice to either read more into the statement and choose to be insulted, or to not read into the statement. You in contrast was making something up and trying to pass it off as a factual based statement. To me at least, the later is more insulting.

2.) I will be quoting your words in a moment to point out where you said you were joking.

1.) Please take note to this part of your statement "Wow, someone took what I said a little too seriously..." According to the basic laws that govern the language we call 'English'; your statement suggests that I misappropriated the level of relevence (or whatever you want to call it) to your post. Sense I 'took' your first post as completely serious, logic dictates that you are implying that your first post was not meant to be taken seriously. Hense, this is the reason I read from your second post that you did not mean your first post as serious.

It does deserve to be noted, however that no where in my previous posts did I state your posts weren't serious. I made a general statement that left it up to the reader to assign relevancy too. If you 'assigned' the relevance to you as an individual person then that is your choice. That was the intent but my intent matters not. What matters is how words are 'recieved'.

Much like how someone of Japanese origin could be very offended by your remarks. Yet I am sure that you did not mean for any specific person to be offended. As I said though, what is 'intended' matters not. If you can not see how your first post can be recieved as very offensive then ask someone else on these forums.

Anyone else think I am wrong in seeing his first post as offensive to anyone of Japanese origin?

I have a healthy respect for Japanese people... in fact, my last Girlfriend was Japanese (Yes, dating girls is something normal for me...)

No offense Ceraphine... but it seems to me liek you like to throw aroudn really big words and trivia tidbits just to get a simple point across... No need to be so complex, nor so defensive. Are you Japanese?? I fyes, then i can understand some of your ire... But if you're not, then ease off, ya? Greedy people come in all shapes, sizes, genders, races and whatnot... a generalization is simply that, a generalization.

I've seen many Japanese players with bazaars with oneitem listed at 20,000,000 or some obscenely stupid price for somethign like an Ironsword +1... i've not seen NA players doign that, so it stand to reason why someone woudl say Japanese players are greedy...

But really, lighten up people... we're talkign about whether you'd Leave Shiva for a new server or not... not about the connotations of what someone said off the cuff.
