An Example of How AH Price could be FixedFollow

Not sure if you guys have noticed, but a certain group of individuals (maybe rmt) has been controlling some items on the AH.

The names are:
Terimin, Flattus, Iguttis, Rufuso, Urames, Xicoroy, Yumigo, Brisko, Obitog, Monscorp, Miechay, Aiegan, Geminort, Slaute, Apharto, Ivanclo, Ledsoul, Seabirt

Their target items include fuma sune-ate, brown belt, woodsman ring, flame ring, scouter's rope, flame ring, melody +1 earrings, elusive earrings.

Their usual method is to buy the items when they are low in price, sell among themselves to raise the prices up and ensure the AH history only show the inflated price and then sell it to other players who are unaware of this artificial 'inflation',

In short, they have cornered the market on these items, causing prices to fluctuate wildly between high and low peaks. All these information can be seen on FFXIAH.com.

So, be aware of them (if you're not). Don't get conned into buying things at the inflated prices and if you can try, buy up the low price items, and sell it at the high prices also. Try to make your own profit from them, predict what items are next to fall or rise.

Was posted in my LS Forum and readers are urged to post in the various Public Forums to let people be aware the prices of certain Items on the AH may be set Artificially.

These people may nor may not be RMTs and readers should decide for themselves.

It is a fact, though, that some these people are buying certain EQ over and over again in a matter of days.

Example:
Seabirt
Bought 3 Assault Earrings within a space of 3 Days (25/01 to 28/01) even though Assault Earrings are Rare, cannot be De-Synthesized and cannot be sold to NPC for more than 4k.

Geminort
Bought 6 Woodsman Rings within a space of 6 Days (25/01 to 30/01).

To be fair, there is a chance that these people might not be in a Syndicate, but are genuine AH Investors looking to stack up on AH Items when price is low in hopes of selling these for Profits in Future.

This is not to condemn anyone and there are no definite evidence. It serves only as an informative post to fellow Ragnarok Players how AH Prices can be fixed if a Syndicate of 15+ people wishes to do it.

Thanks for the heads-up. I was pretty pissed when I was trying to buy Woodsmans the other day and they'd gone from 100k to 300k overnight. Spread the word.

So I had a 30 minute somewhat heated chat with a GM (Pradal, not sure if I can share name...) about this list tonight.

Ya see, I'm trying to buy Woodsman Rings for my 42 War I just started leveling again. Within a span of 24 hours, the rings went from 300k to 100k, with a huge chunk being bought and sold by the same people like it is a system. THis is common on a lot of items. Now I can't even get a ring at a normal price. So now I am sure the rings are well over that much now.

I supplied the list of names, and explained what they were doing to the manipulation of the AH prices. The GM said they cannot control the prices of items, and that it is totally up to the players what those prices are.

So I asked: "Are you saying that SE turns an eye to players ABUSING the AH?"

I got no answer to that. The GM then asked "What makes you so certain that it may be RMT behavior? What would RMT have to gain with dropping the prices?"

I explained: "They sell the rings at a higher price, and purchase them from eachother at those higher prices. They let stock build up at that high price. THEN they lower the price, buy up MOST of the stock. THEN THEN they slowly start to put them back up at the crazy crazy prices again."

Pradal told me that the list of names were being brought up to the task force, and it was being expedited. I made sure to ask multiple times if this was being taken seriously, and I was told it was.

Who knows.

We don't. That's why we are highlighting it to SE so they can get the Task Force to investigate (btw my friend who posted the list have submitted the Names to the Task Force as well).

None of us are trying to get innocent people Banned. We are doing our part to notify SE of suspicious activities that may affect other honest or unsuspecting Players.

Exactly. It's always the same Names Buying and Selling the same things to each other.

Take a look at how they turn Melody Ring +1 from a sub 100k Item to 270k and got a few Buyers like Ueshiba, Hisachan and Luposolitario to pay Inflated Price of 160k and 200k.

same thing happens with a lot of things that I have noticed too.

Like the astral ring, it was being sold for 90-100k and then jump to 300k. I saw a few names that were doing that with the woodsman ring as well. same people.

I've been spamming GM's with the list of these people. I have reported it 5 times so far. Each GM has said that they have escalated these to the TF.

Never gonna end though.

how about you try going along with it, and buying up some low rings then reselling them high. if SE won't do anything about it might as well ride the gravy train for some easy gil ;<
