I've only read her book Druids, so I really can't say too much about her. She seemed pretty decent though... tried to stay true to what I think of when I think of Druids (which isn't what most people think). Some may giggle a bit at the idea of "sex magic" but it was a practice that was done, and was considered to be the highest form of magic. The historic details dealing with the Romans were well researched as well.
I may read more of her in the future, but have some others to handle first

I read everything i can find of hers.

Though I didn't have time to read 1972, when I had it out of the library.

One of the few times were I had taken out more books then I could finish.

Have you read 1916,1921 and 1949?

I enjoyed each of them. Although in 1949 there's just too much coincidental good fortune for Ursula to be believed.

Yes and enjoy them alot. I've learned more about my Irish history from her books then what I cn find in my World History books. Must have been written by WASPs.

Try reading Paddy's Lament, by Thomas Gallagher (non-fiction) which was one 2nd generation, Irish-American man's quest to find out why everyone in his family hated the British with the white hot fury of a thousand suns.

And Leon Uris' Trinity, is a powerful piece of fiction about Ireland.

Thomas Flanagan has written three (that I'm aware of)historical novels of Ireland The Year of the French, The Tenants of Time, and The End of the Hunt, all of which are still on my 'need to read' list.

yes, Trinity was REALLY good. I'll have to check out those others..

I still have yet to read Llewellyn's Strongbow... and I think a couple more.. but I've prolly read about 80% of her stuff.. I read 1916 and 1921... non of the proceding ones.

I think either Bard or Druids is my favourite... although Lion of Ireland is great.... Hell. I can't decide waht's better.. hehe
