Need Help Finding a BookFollow

#1 Jun 10 2004 at 1:34 PM Rating: Decent
The title, I think, has something to do with "Sol", like "Return / Escape to/from Sol" or something. Don't know the author, and I don't know if it's a series. It may be circa late 70s / early 80s.

I do know the main character's name is Aton, a warrior that crash lands on this jungle planet and has to fight his way back to his ship to get off the planet.

Is there a database I can look it up in, or would some of you maybe be able to tell me what I'm looking for?

Thanks in advance for any clues!

I read the first of these [Chthon] and just outright hated it. I still managed to finish it, but it doesn't rate high with me. Also if you look at the site link above, books #3 and #4 in this series were not even written by Piers Anthony. -.-

Keep in mind though that when it comes to Piers Anthony, the only series of his that I like at this point and still own is Incarnations and even then the last book was just a bit too over the top back when I originally read it. I used to read Xanth, but just kinda out grew it at this point.

My problem with every single Piers Anthony series I've read is that the first book or two is decent to great, then they suddenly go downhill fast.

Xanth is up to what, 30-40 books now or something obscene?
