Read the manga while being bored on the train yesterday. While it was okay, I didn't really find it interesting enough to recommend to everyone. Would you guys say the anime is better? If so, I'll give that a shot later today.
The manga is VERY different compared to the anime. The anime is much better; in fact, the manga was below average in my mind. As far as I remember, the manga was kinda just your average school days (heh) love triangle, with a shocking and tragic end. The protagonist is a bumbling fool, but not that bad a guy... just indecisive.
The anime starts with that same feeling, but by the fourth (I think) episode, the protagonist starts to act in a way that makes you squirm. By the sixth, you're distinctly uncomfortable. From that point on it's like watching a train wreck in slow motion. Unlike in the manga, the protagonist in the anime is a complete A-hole. His indecision is soon overtaken by his libido, and apparently he is wearing Eau De Coitus, because he somehow starts attracting girls left and right. The thing is, you can still kind of understand his actions: if girls are throwing themselves at a teenage guy, most would give in. Finally you get to the end, which is MUCH more startling than the manga. And you're rewarded with the meme "Nice boat..."
Watch the anime. Heck, now I want to watch it again before the game arrives! Fair warning, there's a lot more mature scenes and fanservice in the anime (I recall none in the manga). I wouldn't watch it on your phone while riding on the train with people around
Edit: So yeah, started rewatching. Good God, by episode 6 this is SO freaking uncomfortable...
