Looking for Dynamis.

Sooooo I'm very proud to admit I just got Married IRL to Myst three weeks ago. The reason this information is at all relative to FFXI is because between Bachelor Parties, my Birthday in June, friends Birthday Parties, the actual Wedding, and the Honeymoon, I missed the last 8 Dynamis in the current Dynamis LS I use, FauchonDynamis, ran by Mantai.

Mantai was pretty upset with me when I told him I needed such a long break. He even asked me to toss my shell, but after I pleaded with him, he let me stay saying that my punishment is to only be able to comment 1 item per Dynamis for 5 runs.

I accept this punishment happily, the only problem is, in 2 weeks I have a camping trip that will cause me to miss Dynamis. I'm betting that's my last chance, seeing as he's canceling runs due to lack of attendance, I doubt he's going to want to make exceptions for me.

So I looked through the LS list here, and over at KI and on Blue Garter, but either I missed a section dedicated to Dynamis Linkshells, or one doesn't currently exist.

What I'm after:

I can play Tuesday, Wednesday, reliably, Friday and Saturday nights are iffy, and I'm once again free on Sundays. Play time can be weekdays 5:30 PM - 12:00 AM or a little later, and the weekend I can be around pretty much any time after 1PM.

I'm mostly interested in RDM AF as that's my current favorite job to play.

What I'd like to find is a point based linkshell where I can accumulate points based on attendance and secure myself a few key pieces of artifact. I have no problem spending 6 months ~ 1 year saving if that's necessary, just so long as I don't have to depend on luck more so than having the desired items drop.

I'd accept any linkshel that's not luck based, I've spent like 6 months in Mantai's shell and I'm still 0/5 on RDM AF, the only reason I'm even attending Dynamis. (Lie, I like the event, it's fun)

Finally let me say that I'm not listing demands, I know I'm no hot commodity in the FFXI world. I'm putting myself out there in hopes that someone might know a linkshell I'd fit well in, and hopefully won't remove me for having real life commitments. Saturday Nights are just too busy, especially in the summer.

My jobs are RDM BRD MNK BST 75, RDM and MNK are well merited/geared, and BRD is fairly well geared. I have no problem attending as any job. I've Main Assisted Bastok, Sandy, Windy, Jeuno, Beucedine, and Xarcabard on MNK, so I can fill in for that if necessary. At one point Hogosha even said I was good at it Smiley: nod

If I'm able to be on-line I will not miss an event. I don't AFK, or quit half way through a run. Honestly as booring as Dynamis can be, I try to make it fun by not letting any of my buffs on allies drop through a whole run.

All that being said, I'd really appreciate any help I can get finding a Dynamis linkshell that's right for me. I think this is all the end game I have time for any more, and one of my favorite events to participate in.

Yo Sing,

Sucks that Mantais group is lacking attendance but I can vouch for Sing as an excellent MA for Dynamis as a MNK. RDM not ther best idea for MA though but have seen it done well. (Sorry Sing even though I know youd prolly like to try). As a MNK MA, Sing always had his mob class/job order down pat as well as always having the next target engaged before the current one was dead so that even the
most retarded pick up players could use /assist to immediately jump on next mob.

Off that subject: Sing, me and Jub are interested in starting the new FF with you and Myst on same server when that happens.

Grats on getting tied down bro. Hope Disney was fun and ill talk to ya soon.

I haven't posted here in ages and haven't played ff in a while now. It's good to see some people are still around. I will be buying the new FF when it comes out and think it would be pretty sweet if we can communicate prior to end up on the same server. I will definitly be lurking these forums when the time comes.

And Sing congrats on getting married. Now have a kid and your coffin will be complete.

I read somewhere recently a theory that seemed to make sense, it's that in SE's next MMORPG, it'd make a lot of sense for them to name the servers the same. If that's the case, I've always thought we had it good on Bismarck, and I'd loooove to start a new MMORPG with all of you. Actually, I'm rather incredibly looking forward to it.

Thanks for the kind words KH, I never could have proven that the Main tank doesn't make a great Main Assist if you guys hadn't provided me the opportunity to learn and try. I miss the hell out of Epilogue.

Yea Verd, I'm a good 2 years of college away from creating my own hellspawn and play time is short as it is! I couldn't imagine doing the whole family thing yet, though I really hope it's going great for you.

I'm getting pumped up just thinking about exploring a new world with all of my old friends. Most of the time it really feels like everyone I knew is gone, I miss a lot of the old-timers. hopefully the new MMO will be our chance to get back into touch =)
