No organisation is immune from the 'one bad apple' syndrome. Once Doug did what he did, it looks like everyone appreciates the swift response.

You could easily have dealt with it in a more private way, but the fact that you have not only taken the time to respond in person, but you and Pikko and other admins even had the integrity to apologise reminds us about how this site was set up in the first place. It's that ethos that keeps me (and, I suspect, others) subscribing.

Well done sir!

I now realise that my image is tarnished by the above comments, so feel obliged to toss in a 'GFY')

I go for lunch and come back to this and see this......Wow.........

OK, I just have to say a few things because things have been communicated to me by other posters that I speak with face to face, on the phone and in IM.

Magi approached just about every female poster that he BELIEVED he would get a response from. Any female poster that did respond to him, he took this to being an invitation to e-Hump. I know that a few female posters thought they were the only one for Magi and I bit my tongue with that. I know that at least one female poster hurt her marriage because of her communications with Magi. I know that at least one female that blatantly and expressly told Magi that she didn't like what he was saying/telling to her and he would not quit.

Should something have been done about Magi's behavior? Yes. Unfortunately, due to another event, Magi believed that he was covered in Teflon and he was invincible and his behavior since then escalated. Alla can contact me directly on that issue since I have first hand knowledge of that and I won't get into that on this forum.

I know that there are certain female posters that had online relationships with Magi. He played each and every single one of you. I won't name names, but I know who you are and I'm sure with a little sleuthing, the rest of the online community could figure it out the way I did.

Never suspected Magi was such a creep. Sure, he was a little odd sometimes but I've yet to see a OOT poster that is completely normal.Smiley: wink

Good job on taking care of this problem.Smiley: thumbsup

While possibly true, I'd urge you all to disregard such impulses as this whole thing is undoubtedly embarrassing and upsetting for them. We don't need to make it any worse. Of course, upsetting Magi would be nice. Anyone have his home phone number and an automated dialing machine?

I know that there are a few female posters that he didn't even attempt because either 1) he would just be ignored; 2) he would be told to GFH; or 3) that female poster would make a thread about it and tell him to GFH in the thread.

I will say that he's young and he perhaps lacked the maturity to realize that holding a job in an online community will still entail real life circumstances.

There are alot of reasons people didn't come forward but I have witnessed many a reasons why people should have come forward but they didn't and I understand why how do you stand up to someone that has more power then you.. .It's like when a school kid gets raped by a teacher or etc. It's something that people are gonna go oh well he's the admin and shes the random poster.. what can we do about it. I feel that what doug did was a good thing to do. And as much as I like Magi I had to take a stand and show that it's not tolitrated. And I stood right next to Doug for it because one person shouting the truth sometimes doesn't work.

I have been thanked for standing with Doug on the situation I don't deserive thanks I did what I belived was right and that's all that's important and now... Someone get me a Beer Smiley: glare

/nod

It's not always easy for victims to come forward.

Just remember if you have a problem you can always go to the next person up. If an admin won't do anything talk to Alla.
