Can anyone point me to how to get a pet Raptor I am currently in Darkshore and it would be great if somone can help me with directions to Raptors around 16-17. I am currently a 17 hunter.

If you want one NOW, you can sneak into the Barrens and tame a lower level Raptor (around level 10).
Or if you want to wait, you can tame a level 22-23 Raptor in the Wetlands.
Or if you want to wait, you can tame a level 22-23 Raptor in the Wetlands.

level: 8-11 Sneak all the way up into the edge of duratar its great fun hehe.
Level 15-19 look any where in barrens not as fun as duratar but still kind fun

Get on the road and head south just stay on the road until you see the gate guards in the Barrens the head to the left and you will find a opening that isn't guarded. Do not appoach the guards they will kill you on sight.
Once inside The Barrens you can scout around for Raptors or Lions or head south to the Oasis and the weiling cave where inside you can get a level 16 elite Raptor. Which of course will just become a Raptor. Very sweet pet that eats meat, I only wish it also ate fish like my Cat.
