I'm sure your handles are somewhere in this thread, but I can't find them. Who do I send a request to?

I was just wondering the same thing, Maz. But my superior observational ability enabled me to find it. Smiley: tongue

Are you guys on US or EU? I wants to be in the Zam guild if it's a US guild. I don't mind about name, although I really like Something Something Darkside and Extra Knee Armor. (I can't create another guild myself, I own one already.) If anyone does it be sure to invite me, I am @teacake. Or just send me friend requests anyway because... I don't know. Cookies? Sometimes I seem to get friend requests from gold farmers so if your account name isn't obvious attach a note so I know who you are. Smiley: grin

I have to check, my handle may be BigbadDaedricPrince-chilla. Or possibly cynyck.

Sumbishes done took my in-game name, naturally, but they can't take my username!

Patch 1.2.3 is here, and it's a giant *** patch.

Downloaded something like 4 gigs, installed 18 gigs, and then downloaded another 3 or 4 gigs.

Hell, it's about time. My Orc looks ridiculous in a dress.

My Imperial looks lovely in a dress, but it's still pretty impractical to be ambushing in. Looks silly when you're leaping forward and it makes those stabby sounds and you're in a long skirt. You would totally trip. Plus, even though I'm using light armor and a staff, I want to be able to pretend it's a bow and I'm, like, Robin Hood. Except a girl. Even a girl Robin Hood would not be wearing a dress.

Finally got to VR1 and tried Cyrodiil. I can see where it has the potential to be super fun, but gigantic spiky nauseating lag is a huge problem. I get the same thing occasionally in cities but it's more frequent and worse here. Since PVP is probably the only endgame activity that will interest me, I'm not sure how much future I'll have in the game if I'm going to keep running into this - hit a button, wait a couple seconds while screen is frozen and jerky, then find I'm dead (before the button I hit actually does anything). It's a shame because I really like the design of it all and if it ran smoothly for me I think it would be awesome.

It does seem to get worse the longer I'm on for, so maybe if I quit and restarted every 15 minutes it would be better. Doesn't seem like a sustainable plan when other games run fine...

Hopefully it magically improves!

Grats on VR1! I'm totally saturated with games again now and lost my MMO drive again but at least one of us made it even after 15-20 rerolls. Smiley: lol

Thanks! Haven't really had the urge to start over but I could really use a barber shop.

The MMO thing definitely comes and goes in waves. It seems to cycle with the seasons for me - for some odd reason I always miss WoW in the fall, especially Halloween, and we end up playing again for a while. Speaking of WoW, I'm trying to pull my husband back into ESO by advertising Cyrodiil as a gigantic Wintergrasp that's active all the time. Which is pretty true, except there's also a healthy dose of Arathi Basin mixed in, and he'd run screaming if I said that. The Cyrodiil lag seems to be a common problem which I actually find encouraging - if it's at least partly on their end rather than mine, I have some hope of it getting fixed.

I started getting bored with ESO but I think my interest is on the rise again. It helps that you can play a different way every day (or every five minutes) if you want to. I put all my attribute points into health so I could just tweak magicka/stamina with gear rather than respecs. My goal is to get enough skill points to have both light and medium armor and as many weapons as possible - at least the 2 staffs, and maybe a bow as well. That way I can carry around a set of light armor enchanted with magic and a set of medium enchanted with stamina, both kinds of food, and just switch from rogue to fire mage to healer to archer on the fly without every having to respec.

So much for not having the urge to start over... I'm thinking I might want to be a wood elf instead. Smiley: grin It's that accent. It reminds me of Gilneas. I know I'm not supposed to bring my biases from one game over into another but... I freaking love Gilneas.

Edit: I should also note that I got a little choked up when I finished the main story. I'm always into the story in games but I rarely get that into it. You'll be missed, Darien. But I'll be honest, buddy: better you than Stibbons.

They only gave me three! So yeah. I'm not sure who they're actually targeting with that, but it does stop the obsessive people like me from creating --> looking at her in in-game lighting --> deleting --> recreating endlessly. For better or for worse.

Wait, ESO gives you a limit on the amount of times you can delete characters?

Edit: Ok, looks like 3 characters per day? I guess that's not bad. Kinda awkward, but it is apparently made to fight gold-selling bots. So ok, whatever.

So now I'm just talking to myself in the ESO thread... Smiley: frown

I'm leveling again. I like my wood elf, so I decided to keep her. My other NB is VR1 so I'll keep her too - she can do all my crafting since she has all the basic racial motifs already. And boy, am I saving a lot of time on NB #2 by not having to worry about crafting as I level. With all my crafting on one character and none on the other, the bosmer will have enough points for investment in all 3 class lines, 4 weapons, 2 armor types, and various other guild, etc. abilities. That should fulfill my dream of being able to choose from a wide variety of play styles just by switching up toolbars and (when necessary) gear, no respec required.

All of this is necessary because I feel like I need to have my main set up just so, now that I'm thinking I might stick around ESO for longer than the 3 months I subbed for. Or I might not, we'll see, but the combination of Cyrodiil being fun and the WoW expansion backing off on some of the initial promises that I was excited about make it a strong possibility.

The only question really is whether in ten more levels or so I'll decide I just can't take doing all these quests again and delete her. Smiley: grin

Ah, you're so adorable when you go on one of your idealistic binges. Enough skill points you say? Two armor types you say? Oh my. And what will you do when you see that great big Adamantite Heavy Armor chest piece with the bare midriff and the spaghetti straps? The one with the matching Heavy Armor Greek sandals?

This will be so much fun to watch. Smiley: tongue

Listen, sonny, don't you patronize me. In my day, if we wanted heavy armor, we had to forge it in the fires of Mount Doom, which we had to walk to, uphill, through the snow. WITH NO SHOES.

But if you must know, I would never wear heavy armor. When my characters drive daggers between people's shoulder blades, they are ladylike about it. And I hate all the sandals in this game. Who is going adventuring through a wilderness rife with big bugs in sandals, I ask you? If I could get a nice pair of Victorian boots and a lovely high-collared riding habit to match, I'd be in heaven. (High heels are not impractical, as they can be used for stabbing.)

Anyhow I specced it out and without crafting I can get everything I want in less than 175 skill points so neener neener.

Luckily, I don't need more than a few skills to complete my build. I'm rocking a shield build on one action bar and a healing staff build on the other. One is for questing and doing some pewpew in dungeons, the other is for soloing world bosses and healing dungeons. I've given up on tanking, because **** that. Nightblades lack the AOE CC to be viable tanks, at least until level 30+ where they get their main AOE stuff.

Still playing with the idea of creating a Nord, but the more I try to justify it, the more I come to realize that I don't like the Ebonheart Pact zones. At least not the early ones. I'd only be there for the Skyrim landscapes, and those are pretty limited. Not a big fan of the Argonian landscape with all the mushrooms and ****. Brings back terrible memories of Zangarmarsh.

And I have to admit, not having to listen to those godawful Nord accents all the time... it's pretty fantastic.

I have this same complaint! And even though I'm kind of a big deal in Sporeggar, I have no desire to relive my Zangarmarsh days.

But if you guys are all playing Daggerfall, watch out for Ranser. Word on the street is he's a madman.

Edit: Someone post another post or two. I hate ending on 13 pages. I like 14.

My big problem with Sporeggar was that I was always unsure if I should refer to the residents as Sporeggonians or Sporeggarites.

I think sporelings is descriptive enough, since afaik there's noplace else they live, so there are no other sporelings the sporelings of Sporeggar could be confused with.

I thought Zangamarsh was pretty ace when I first saw it. Terrokar too. I liked any of the zones in WoW that were not "Endless broken rocks" Those zones kinda bored me.

I'm in the last zone EB side on my 40 something ish toon I have not played in two months. That lizard area does drag on for a bit but it perks up after that again for a while in Skyrim.
