My Half-Elf Rogue as agility 129 and even if he carries less than half his strentgh every human or high elf seems to outrun me (No sow or similar buff on them). does race has an influence in speed?

No.

All races run at the same basic speed.

Factors that affect your running speed:

  • Lag - both client and serverside
  • Run Speed AA
  • Run Speed buffs

  • Encumberance

  • I'm sure someone will chip in if I missed any Smiley: smile

The first is the most likely culprit. Small differences which might not be apparent in normal activities become evident when following someone. I have a better graphic card than my wife (that is to say my computer has a better one than hers). She always has to ask me to stop and wait when she is following. This happens regardless of the races involved and even if they are the same race.

A computer with really bad lag can reduce you to a snails pace even though you have SoW.

Background activity can influence this. I was on my way with friends to do something a couple of night back when suddenly I could barely move - No other applications running in foreground. I was forced to log out to clear it and what was waiting for me "Norton has updated your virus definitions". My fault for letting it update automatically.

btw that is a frighteningly high AGI for a 21 rogue. Concentrate on STA/hp and STR and perhaps DEX. STA=hp and you can never have enough, STR influences Backstab, DEX helps with weapon skill-ups and procs if you have any (although it would have to be a pretty nice proc to make me go for DEX over STA).

Can't help for my AGI - since i changed the coalition trader newbie stuff for the scouts of tunare (because this one is black/verydark green *smile*) and stumbled into the bazaar while there where sales (seemed to me) and bought fancy stuff I ended somehow with 129. STA IS bad with only 89 but my STR 112 makes me happy too :)))

Yes some of the armour sets do amplify some perplexing stats.

    Work on that STA.

It used to be the case that if your STA was over 100 then whatever the yellow Stamina bar said you would not slow down in combat. It was a prime aim to get STA over 100 for any melee.

Since the melee combat changes and the new "Endurance" concept it is unclear what if any role is played by STA in maintaining or replenishing Endurance. So that advice may be out of date.

However it is still important for hp.

Whatever does influence it will no doubt get discussed here when it becomes clearer. It would make sense for it still to be STA as the concepts are similar. they might well make it a progressive change though rather than the rather silly "over 100 is enough" that used to exist.

You are not dependent on the native colour of armour since you can dye it using prismatic dyes available on the bazaar. No need to swap out a nice item because it does not match your desired image.

Off-topic for the armour: I took a closer look of all the dyied stuff, be it plate, chain or leather/cloth - but I can't help - compared to undyed few have a natural look. and my cute outfit has this very organic black/dark-green texture which would be destroyed if mixed with dyed parts.

Some items just don't look good dyed, simple as that. I have an Ice Silk robe on my chanter and it looks hideous and all the dye colours make it look even worse.

I think that Plate armour looks best dyed <apart from Poor Dark Elves if there was ever a race that needed no graphic helms it's them>, my High elf cleric has full plate effect in gold and looks pretty spanky indeed Smiley: smile

As for run speed there is nothing worse than being over took by an acid taking Bard fresh from a hit, those guy's make SoW look like 'stood still'.

Hell - thats true, I made a bard once on another server (a 1-hour experiment) and couldnt even run from freeport westgate to eastgate without crashing into EVERY wall on my way because of my speed....

but *seriously*.....I don't know how often I get overtaken on the way from kaladim to the wayfarers camp in BB and hitting the sneak button because I thought i still was on sneak *lol*
