I am returning to eq after 1 year ( which I dont know why and how I did that ). I am poor... I have a 57 mage and a 51 war with crappy gear and only a few thousand platinum and missing slots for gear. I have really lost my touch from not playing for such a long period of time. Everyone seems to be UBER except me and I really would like some nice items. If you know of any ways to make a good amount of plat (1k+ per hour) please let me know of any strategies you have come across. If I could just make that much plat per hour EQ would be good. The more the better of course. I am really desperate. In the bazaar i see stuff such as "WTB AoN 115k". WTB CocM or CoM, WTB CoF", and it makes me feel sick. For my level my gear absolutely sucks... I see lvl 20's walking around with gear I could only dream of having. I have spent alot of time trying to find ideas to making plat but no luck at all. Also my other question is what class do you think has the best chance of making alot of money in the long run? Which will get the most uber gear etc... I really would like to know how these people get so much plat. And I can tell you for a fact that hardly any of these people buy plat from the internet. I know a few who have but not many.

Thanks for your time and help, I really appreciate it. :)

I dont have much to say on this topic, as Im not in that uber gear either at lvl 55. But as to your question about which classes can make the most money. Well Im not sure about on other servers, but on stromm (my sever) my guild has about 6 lvl60+ chanters. I talk to them a lot being as Im also a chanter. But anyhow, they have said that with few others casting, they can make 5k+ pp an hour EASY just casting kei. Like I said, dont have much to say, just thought I would through my 2 cents in there.

There are many different ways to make platinum, see my post in the Need Money thread.

A good method that I am using now with my 56 Beastlord is that of tailoring Leather Padding and selling it for 35 - 40pp each in the bazaar, thats right each, people have become that desperate/lazy and will pay that much.

To make Leather Padding, get your tailoring skill up to about 100, this will take a few hundred platinum, not much. Use EQTraders to see how (do Woven Mandrake though, easy). Combine a Low Quality Pelt of any type with one Silk Thread or Shade Silk Thread to produce one Leather Padding.

Obtaining Low Quality Pelts:
The best way to get LQ pelts is in Marus Seru killing Greyhoppers. These creatures always drop something, be it Rockhopper Blood, Rockhopper Egg, Low Quality Rockhopper Hide, or Greyhopper Hide. Loot ratios are the following: 1/10 Rockhopper Blood, 1/10 Rockhopper Egg, 5/10 Low Quality Rockhopper Hide, 3/10 Greyhopper Hide. Keep the LQ Hides and if you are raising tailoring skill to 95, the Greyhopper Hide as well (Greyhopper Hide + Boot Pattern = Greyhopper Hide Boots - Trivial at 95). Run around the zone with your fire pet and kill every Greyhopper you see, you can easily get 80 LQ pelts in around 2hours if you are fast.

Obtaining Silk Thread/Shade Silk Thread:
Silk Thread is made out of 2 Spiderling Silks or Shadeling Silk, we will be making Shade Silk Thread, so we use Shadeling Silk. Shadeling Silk comes from Shadeweavers Thicket and is dropped from either a_Xakra_Silk_Worm or a_Lesser_Shade. These creatures will go down fast, as they are levels 2 and 7 respectively. Kill all you can and gather 2x as much Shadeling Silk as you have LQ Rockhopper Hides. Also keep any Swirling Shadows from Lesser Shades, they sell it Bazaar for some money too. Tailor the Shade Silk Thread and you are done farming.

Now, combine the 1 LQ Rockhopper Hide and the 1 Shade Silk Thread in a Sewing Kit to get 1 Leather Padding (Stackable, trivial at 31). Sell these in trader mode (with any Swirling Shadows) for like 1pp under the standard bazaar price (usually 40pp). With 4 stacks of this stuff like I did, you can easily make over 3000pp and work your way up to the gear you want.
