(Granted, it probably could have happened with any random mob but...) Today he dropped an Auburn Hero's Forge Chain Chest Ornament. And also Gloomsilk Sleeves.
Just FYI, there is a hidden room behind his throne that has a chest. Bit difficult getting my ogre berserker in there. Used Open skill, popped the chest, and looted.
After camping Overlord Gnikan for three days I finally got the tunic, but funny thing is, it didn't drop from him, it dropped from a Gloomingdeep Warrior.
Soloed at lvl 12, 4 gloom items, rest stitched, only gloom bought spells. Only hit him with the Iron hammer, healed self and kept yalp up the whole fight, was close to 0 mana and 20% hp left when he died, pulled him to the corner in hes room where the add dont spawn and kept him there, no adds that way, hidden behind the little throne chair. Didnt drop the orb for me tho, and this was on the test server, so i wanted the silly 10% haste hehe.
As as 12 Necro with 12 pet (left mines after binding there so I could get my lvl 12 spells, then gated back) he was no problem at all, even with a Spiritweaver add.
My pet and I finished him leaving me with nearly full health and about 1/3 mana.
Just did him tonight solo. 11 Necro. NOT twinked. Brand new toon on Antonious Bayle. Gloomgear or stiched burlap. About 20% Gloom geared. Three wipeouts before success. He is resistant to disease and poison from what I can tell. On the wipes he kept resisting my DoTs. On the successful run he resisted nothing and I still only survived with 11% HP (298 HP MAXED)

One day I'm going to fly to Canada and open the curtains in your office.
I went onto the tutorial with a new Gnome Pally (just wanted a gnome in plate tbh) at level 9 me, a level 10 zerker and a level 10 shaman kicked him and his lackeys around a bit, which was nice =D
Ok, I just soloed him (along with 2 of his buddies)as a 10 Rogue. I have Acrylia Gear and I got a blessing before beginning. I used a potion of Skinspikes II, A potion of Alacrity II, a potion of Regeneration II and a potion of Celestial Healing II (I drank one just before the beginning of the fight and another one as soon as I the recast time was met.

lol i went to gloomingdeep at level 15 (highest you can go) and killed everything there except overlord gnikan.. he was too hard even at level 15.. i think you need a whole group of like level 10-15s to knock him out i was a druid i kept healing myself and then he still killed me on the way to the guards. also after you kill him you can go to the chest behind his throne thing go through curtains and type /open on the chest and loot it sometimes it drops malachite and gloomarmor like leather, steel, silk and the other one and it drops runes too. it rarely drops some pretty cool weapons i got one once and it was kinda good. they are no drop tho so if you cant use it just dont loot it just type /o (link) rotting on chest behind overlord..
I just soloed him with an untwinked mage 10, who had only the gear from this zone. My only special power is the drakkin breathweapon (have done 2nd step before trying him on)., which is not that powerful. I only needed a type 3 celestial heal potion to do it. My weapon were the 10th level water elemental pet and the 7th level fireshield plus the bolt and shock spells. I cleared the way to him first, then medded up and attacked at full strength. It is a bit close, and I guess it could go wrong, but if handled right, it works fine. I stepped in when my pet hit 25% hp and used the potion to keep standing, while it killed him, still nuking until he dropped.
Well, I just killed him with my 8 Shammy, a 10 Mage and a 10 SK. I had only a couple of minor twink pieces...not sure about the others, but we took him and the mobs around him - the pet off-tanked and the SK was at maybe 50% with me healing at the end of the fight, so...didn't seem so difficult to me.
Agreed, not very hard. Took him with a 10 SHM, 9 SHM, 9 WAR, and 4 RNG tagging along, a ragtag pickup group that basically just cleared the area and then pulled him. Got a spiritweaver behind him as an add and still had no trouble; basically the 9 SHM through on a slow and then offtanked the add while my SHM and the WAR duoed the boss.
Zerker, 740hp, 396 ac and he owned me. Ornate great blade 30/20, 36% haste. Max hit was 30, can quad. When you attack him he says "Time to put down dis revolt myself! It ends now, slaveling!" And when he kills you, "Har har! Another slaveling knocked back in'ta the line!"
Not sure what the hell kind of twinkage you all were using on your toons when you say he was soooooo easy.
I just tried him using a very twinked out level 7 Ogre SK with 1000 hp and 650 ac, 34% haste belt, bard haste, level 7 pet skeleton, and swinging a blade of carnage (15/20 1HS)...in addition to two other very twinked out toons to include a beastlord and bard. This dude is NOT sooooooooooooo easy.
All three of my toons are popping off 20s on hits (the SK a bit higher). He takes the SK down to 30% and we get him down to maybe 70% before we sprint to the guards. He hits for 30s and seems to have quite a few hit points. He is much tougher than any level 10 NPC I've ever come across in the game.
So all you saying this guys was sooooooooooooo easy, how about you list the mad gear each of your toons was using to take him down. I am sure it wasn't the stuff dropping out of The Mines of Gloomingdeep and nothing else.
ok cool i just killed him with ease as a 9 shammy droped a mana preservation stone thing and we also easaly killed the other named (cant remember name now but the big dude) that didnt drop anything.
