Qho's Holiday Adventures!

Cyliena and Qho tackle Nights of the Dead and Frostfell in an original story!

Qho Augren has made a permanent impression upon many of being the brattiest child that Norrath has ever seen. Hailing from the Village of Shin, he nagged us time and time again to bring him back a multitude of harvests whenever we returned to him. The most recent Gathering Obsession quest had a unique twist however: Qho became a pet that follows us around!

I'm sure many people had fun jumping off of cliffs or battling the nastiest of beasts with him in tow, but I saw the opportunity to teach Qho more about harvesting... and the world beyond. Qho has now visited a wide variety of places with me, posed for many pictures and even provided a point of amusement as unsuspecting players on my server have hailed my Qho pet over and over, likely wondering why he didn't give them a quest.

I've had Qho as a pet since March 2011 and have taken him out for several unique adventures in that time. In the months that have passed since then Qho has stood steadfastly by my side throughout it all. Continue reading for more tales of Qho's exciting adventures!

Following our excursion to Fan Faire, Qho returned home to spend the remainder of the summer months and the first part of autumn with his parents. I promised both him and his mother that I would write once the next holiday drew near. All too quickly Qho was back into a daily routine of spending most of the day alternating between harvesting the frosty shrubs and roots of New Halas and playing with the local children. It was perhaps a week later, as I was spending some time honing my blades while the boy was out, that my front door slammed open. I sprang up in alarm, sword and dagger at the ready, and dashed for the entrance.

"AAAIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!"

I stopped in my tracks, dumbfounded as Qho screamed loud enough to wake the dead. As I approached the boy I noticed that he was paler than normal... which didn't seem possible, given his complexion.

"What happened, Qho?" I asked, while glancing around, expecting a dragon to come crashing in at any moment.

"G-g-g-g-g-g-gh-gh-gh....." Qho stuttered, turning even paler.

I arched an eyebrow and leaned in closer to hear him. "Alright, slow down Qho. What in the world is wrong? You look as if you've seen a ghost."

At the mention of a ghost, Qho fainted dead away. I barely had time to drop my weapons and catch him before he hit the ground. After laying the boy on the couch I snatched up my blades again and slipped out the front door.

Everything appeared normal around the city but I hadn’t gone very far when I glimpsed Qho's "ghost". A gigglegibber goblin, casting illusions on some of the locals, was nearby. I sheathed my blades and began to laugh, running back to the house. The Nights of the Dead celebration had begun!
