Calthine's Fan Faire Blog, Day 2

Wow, where do I start?

I got myself up around 8am. Bludwyng promptly texted me that he was going to breakfast, but I had work to do and passed. Around 9 Kiara and I met for danish, and we parked ourselves at a lovely wine and coffee bar in the main lobby and proceeded to inflict DPS on cheese danish and talk to several devs and gamers about Fan Faire.

I had signed up for the G.I.R.L. breakfast (I know, I just had danish, but I woke up starving!), so I headed to that while Kiara went to start her work day. As an aside, all the developers, staff and, community personel have really put the hours into this event. Sure, it's their job, but desipte lack of sleep and overload from taking mass quantities of player feedback you can really tell that they love what they do. If you're here, don't be shy. SOE people love their work and if they're too busy to talk right then they'll say so.

The GIRL breakfast was lovely, see my write up here . Afterwards I took some time to check out the conrad room (we're not sure who Conrad is, but it was the main room for Fan Faire) while the Live Quests were going on.

Later I sat in the guild hall preview. This is some great stuff! Since announcing the guild halls last Fan Faire SOE has been taking player input and I honestly think that every idea that was mentioned more than three times made it in. Stay tuned for my report on that panel, as I want to go through my recording slowly and pick all the juicy details out.

I also went to the Anything Goes forum, where players get to ask the devs questions face to face. Kirstie said they would not answer expansion questions (but they will at today's Anything Goes forum), not would they take class versus class questions, but there were good questions and I saw the devs taking notes on some ideas that were presented.

We waited a bit for the Annual Address, apparently they were having technical difficulties. I'll have a writeup later, but the highlights include the announcement of the EQ and EQII expansions, the Zam.com announcement, and Smed giving all attendees a digital copy of both the EQ and EQII expansions.

Then we hopped buses for the SOE Kareoke party . That was fun, but very loud, and I stayed away from the karaoke and talked to lots of people.

Then, eventually sleep, lol.  and as I post this I'm off for more Fan Faire!  Stay tuned, we will have writeups and other content coming soon(tm).
