I don't understand the negativity to guildhalls. So what if they are put in and the higher level your guild is the more crap you get in the guild hall? Personally I think it would be damned cool if the guildhall got some kind of 'award' for every epic raid mob they take down. Killed Vox? You get a dragon skull on the wall. It would be the guild version of the Legend and Lore quests.
The guildhalls sure didn't do anything bad to EQ1. The cities are just as full as they were before, the tradeskill areas have just as many people, and the bank workers are all still employed. It's simply a place for the guild to gather, and prepare for raids, or their daily play.
Maj'Dul didn't empty Qeynos and Freeport of all the players, even though it certainly had the potential to, some people relocated but most stayed in their original city. I'd think that having guilds have their own banks, own brokers, and own tradeskill area. It means a couple fewer people standing around the broker I can hardly see through the forest of people in Qeynos Harbor.
Beyond Thunderdome!
Guildhalls are coming, folks. There isn't a definite date yet, it's still Soon(tm), but they are on their way.
With that in mind, people have been going nuts throwing out their ideas for the perfect guildhall. The problem with that? Large head and little arms and I just don't think they thought it through all the way.
Bonus points for catching the reference ;)
