With War of the Immortals' upcoming expansion, Last Omen, launching on May 10th, 2012, we here at ZAM got the chance to chat with Perfect World Entertainment Product Manager Thang Phan to talk about what's in store for WOI players. Ah, Perfect World Entertainment (PWE). I have a love/hate relationship with the US subsidiary of the Chinese Perfect World company. This will be the fifth game I’ve played from them (others are Ether Saga Odyssey (ESO), Forsaken World (FW), Rusty Hearts, and Champions Online), and it falls into the same genre as ESO and FW. Players take the role of a character attempting to revive Odin and save the world, and we find a lot of the same mechanics present in other PWE games with some uniqueness as well. Any War of the Immortals fans out there? If you didn't manage to grab a closed beta key from our giveaway last week, well, the good news is that War of the Immortals has already entered open beta! Players can now sign up and play on one of two new servers, Gaia and Midgard, to get their questin' on to level 115. Currently, Perfect World is also giving away over $2,500 worth of prizes, with WoI limited edition collectible items and even gaming hardware up for grabs. As long as you register and play between now and December 21st, 2011, you will automatically be eligible to win prizes at Tier 1.

Great opening lines aside, War of the Immortals has a new class trailer out to highlight their Enchantress, a beautiful and graceful addition to WoI that supports her friends with songs and harpsichord-y music, or debuffs her foes with angry litanies of destruction. Think a Bard here, but far prettier and a little less annoying.

Perfect World Entertainment has announced that the next MMORPG added to the company's growing list of games will be War of the Immortals, which takes place in the same world as Battle of the Immortals. Players in War of Immortals will be called upon to protect Atlantis from the evil legions of Ragnarok.

War of the Immortals features eight classes, powerful sets of animated class armor, guild housing, territory wars, a pet system that allows your to capture and customize almost any monster, and dungeons that include destructible environments.
