APB Launch Pushed Back to July-September

GameSpot has taken a close look at the earnings report Electronic Arts issued yesterday, and they noticed that All Points Bulletin has been pushed back to launch sometime between July 1 and Sept. 30, 2010. It looks like we're going to have to wait a little longer to play this urban MMO that will appeal to Grand Theft Auto fans.

In case you were curious, Electronic Arts reported an $82 million loss for the October-December quarter of 2009. Also, a game called "Dragon Age Title TBA" is scheduled to launch between Jan. 1 and March 31, 2011 for consoles, handhelds and PC. A portable Dragon Age? That could be interesting. There's no details on whether it will be a sequel or major expansion.

First Dragon Age Expansion Coming March 16

Today's a big day for Dragon Age: Origins fans. Not only does it mark the release of the Return to Ostagar downloadable content, but BioWare also just announced today that Awakening, the game's first official expansion, is scheduled to launch on March 16.

According to the announcement, the expansion features "an increased level cap, new spells, abilities, specializations and items, plus five all-new party members." Awakening also gives players the ability to re-spec their character attributes.

You can read more about the expansion and pre-order it on the official Awakening page.

Return to Ostagar Content Coming Jan. 5

BioWare has announced that the Return to Ostagar downloadable content for Dragon Age: Origins will be released on Jan. 5, 2010 for Xbox 360 and PC. PlayStation 3 players will gain access to the update "later in January," according to a press release.

You can view screenshots and a video for the new content on the official Return to Ostagar page. The update will cost 400 BioWare Points on the PC, 400 Microsoft Points on Xbox 360, and $4.99 on PlayStation 3.

Dragon Age as an MMORPG: How Would It Work?

It's been a couple of weeks since the release of BioWare's Dragon Age: Origins, and while gamers and reviewers alike are still picking up their collective jaws off the ground regarding this terribly addictive RPG, you can always trust that there will be people who have beaten the game (twice!) and are already imagining just how much potential lies in the vast world of Thedas.

In particular, the first thing that popped into our minds here at ZAM was pretty much what we're always thinking of: MMORPGs. Of course, you could expect nothing less from a team that's devoted to the genre, so today we decided to imagine just what BioWare could do to transform Dragon Age to be one of the most potentially innovative MMOs in the industry (please note that this is pure speculation!).

Dragon Age Hits Stores, Includes WAR Items

Unless you've been living under the weight of an ogre's buttocks, you've probably heard of Dragon Age: Origins. Today marks the release of Dragon Age: Origins on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. We're impressed by BioWare's immersive RPG, as can be seen in our hands-on preview and our interviews with the co-founders of BioWare and Executive Producer Mark Darrah. You can now join the Grey Wardens and fight the gritty, dark, violent battle with your swarthy brethren.

And there are even some surprises to be found in your brand new game! If you're a devout purchaser of EA products - or if you just happen to be an owner of Warhammer Online - you'll find a code that unlocks the "Adventurer's Handbook" (which gives you a 10% XP Bonus when used) and the "Skaven Skin Cloak" (allows your to take on the appearance of the ratty Skaven).

That's a pretty sweet deal, especially for folks that own both products. I certainly do, so it was a pleasant addition to an excellent package.
