lvl 29 engineer looking for schematics

Hi guys,

I am currently a level 29 engineer with 234 engineering. I want to learn the make the Gnomish Mind Control Cap and the Gnomish Death Ray. Where can I find the trainer/recipe? Someone told me to go to Booty Bay, but I was never able to find a trainer there that would teach me. I found an engineer but he would not talk to me.

So my questions are:

Where can I find those 2 schematics?
Are there any level requirements for those?

Nobody was fibbing to you. you do learn how to make both of those items from the Gnomish engineer trainer in Booty Bay. Blizzard thew you a bone with you +15 to the trade but they did not loose their minds.

To learn how to make theese items you have to be a Gnomish engineer, no not a gnome engineer, you have to choose the Gnomish engineering path, something that you can not do yet. Reqired level 30(maybe 35, it has been a long time since i have done it) It is not a complete loss, the MC hat is BoE, meaning you can buy one even if you cannot make one(it only requires skill 215 to use it).

so if you are twinking it up in BG, you will not get the death ray, but the MC hat can be purchased from other players. Otherwise, you need to level, eventaly you can pick a spec and enjoy it.
