Save my DEed goods or sell them now?Follow

Hey everyone, just wondering what your opinion is on whether or not I should save my essences/shards/dusts until after the patch when not everyone can DE the same level stuff anymore (depending on enchanting skill level of course). Right now I have probably about 50g worth of stuff sitting in my bank, but was curious as to what the rest of you are doing.

I'm not changing what I'm doing. When the patch hits, I'll take some time off from DEing and level Asgard to 20 and take my enchanting to 225 (fairly trivial). Then I'll go back to my normal DE schedule.

I will probably do about the same. My DE alt is a 19 rogue, so within a few hours I should have him hit 20 with little problem then just up his encahnting level.

Low level mats are easy to get if you have a level 60, and creating a new level 20 toon does not take long. As such, I have continued to use the same disenchanting strategy as before. (SELL SELL SELL!!!) My mage is an enchanter, so he can pick up the slack while I level my new banker/disenchanter.

I sell my DE'd stuff cuz im to lazy to get good recipies and make money like that. It also depends on what lvl stuff I DE'd so looking the AH seeing if its worth it or giving it to my guild bank for the extra DKP lol

prices on enchanting mats will go up, because not every level 5 bank alt can de them.
on the other hand, less people might need the low level mats because they won't to trough the bother of skilling up an enchanter alt, now that it's harder.

i just dropped skinning to disenchant loads of t0, t1 and other old gear cluttering up my bank. i am definitely holding on to the eternal essences, large brilliant shards and nexus crystals for when the expansion hits, because people will need more than they can get to skill up fast. and the mats will probably have some use in other professions that i/others will be skilling up too.

i'm selling all lower-level mats because the focus will be on skilling up your main before you do all your alts. and by then, more mats will have hit the market.

(sigh) I levelled to 16 today - a couple more, and I'll be at 20 and will start levelling enchanting past 150. Unfortunately, Auctioneer/Enchantrix won't be available until at least the 19th, so I won't be mass DEing until I get my tools back. Fortunately, I have a good memory and can easily remeber what items to disenchant for mats (along with decent prices, though I might be off a little).

I'm saving my current bunch of mats by placing them into the AH at slightly inflated prices (so that they won't sell, yet also won't take up bank space). I was really surprised to see one bunch sell, and I know that there were less expensive items on the AH! Ah, well. I made a good profit, anyhow.

I guessed wrong. Almost everything sold. Either I didn't put my prices high enough, or I caused a bit of inflation, or both.

...and I have to wait a while before a good version of Enchantrix is released. The current Alpha shows what items disenchant into, but breaks on Bidbroker and Percentless. According to Norganna's site, a good version should be available around the 19th.

I needed money for my main to get the epic mount, so on my DE alt (still 300 skil though) I emptied out my bank and am trying to sell everything. I think i've had one small batch of auctions expire, everything else is selling for 50-100% more than before the patch. This is mostly the high level essences, dusts and shards though ie dream dust, greater nether essence and up. Netted me a nice chunk of change.

And for some reason, weapons are selling for less, so more profit for me :)

I would say sell the mats you have now, and get more for when the x-pack comes out.

thanks for the advice, will do that!

I saved mine until just yesterday. I marked up the prices a huge amount not thinking that they would sell but they did. Instead of making about 35g I made 86g.
I think part of it has to do with the fact enchantrix and auctioneer are broken so there aren't nearly as many people DEing and putting up stuff. Price doesn't seem to matter right now on my server. Just supply

I put all of my items up for around the middle of what everyone is selling at today. I hope to come back to around 150g :D

I got to 20 this morning, levelled enchanting to 225 with my leftover mats, and still made 110G (went from 1042G to 1152G). I have a scheme to get past the loss of enchantrix, but it's gonna be very labor intensive.

Right now a lot of people are leveling enchanting in anticipation of the new level requirements. So the answer, as several stated, is to sell now while demand is high. Once the alts get leveled, the prices will go down and it will be back to business as usual.

The key is to recognize that the market is peaking now, and not later, because everyone thinks they need to level up to D/E for that tight market that actually won't happen because everyone is leveling up to make a killing in that tight market that actually won't happen...

yeah I went ahead and sold my mats. Got enough gold for my main to get epic mount training and now have a nest of 75g on my de alt again. now I just need to level him to 20 and keep endlessly enchating to get up to 225.

Hey I have a stupid question for you guys? What are the necessary levels in enchanting to allow one to DE outland's greens? Is it just 225? Or would I have to get an alt up higher? I'm strongly considering making a priest or possibly a mage alt to level in BC, so perhaps I'll make that my DE (and probably tailor/cloth mute) mule.

It is 225 for level 60, so I am assuming it will be 300 for 70 or something of that sort, and will scale inbetween.
