#1 Oct 29 2006 at 11:06 AM Rating: Decent
yeah just a polite question, i am 282 Smither and i dont have a clue what to do, i cant make decent money i grinding is as boring as hell, 4g evry hour aint my style, is there any profittable items a blacksmither can make at my level? (btw i am an armoursmith) all i do at the moment is make the imperial plate shoulders and sell them for twice as much as the mats cost, and they dont always sell.

im sorry if there was already a thread about this, but im kinda in a hurry atm now and i have a job to do, thnx for replies

Mithril Spurs are always a quick and easy way to make some gold. Plus, there's nothing like the look of absolute shock when you over-write someone's super-expensive boot enchantment and say "Oh, I thought you knew! Too bad!"

Really want to make money? Drop BS alltogether and pick up another gathering profession. People that do the crafting professions, for the most part, do it to make themselves items 1st, make money 2nd. If you find yourself putting more priority on making money than making stuff for yourself, then you might want to rethink blacksmithing

consumables are where it's at.

make sure you always have a couple stacks of each sharpening/weight stone up on the ah. also, put a patterned bronze bracer or two up every day because it's required for a badlands quest turn in so there's a constant demand for them.

ammo and quest items are making me decent gold with engineering at the moment

You don't have to drop it. Use mining (which I assume you took as a compliment to BS) to supplement your income. Sell the raw mats on the auction house. See whether it sells better as ore or bars. Also, keep an eye out for rare BS plans- you may see one in the AH (or as a drop) which produces a high-demand item. If so, buy it, and make those- as long as it's profitable to do so. Also, see if you can see a trend in things that you currently can make that sell well at the AH. You may find an item that is cheap to make, but sells quickly at a profit.

Finally, take a look at the guide linked in my sig. Hopefully it will prove helpful.

I've been selling these on the AH for a nice amount. My alt is an alchemist and makes the Frost Oil and Shadow Oil needed for the build

-Frost Tiger Blade
-Shadow Crescent Axe

225 BS and so far I'm happy with the $ I'm making. Working on making the Ornate Mithril items this week to see how they sell.

Also purchased the Plans for "Blue Glittering Axe" to see how that will sell. The (2) Aquamarine needed sucks though. About 1g each on AH.

I am 240 in blacksmithing...
The best way for me-if i am really short on money, which doesnt happen a lot cause i am trying to run an instance a day...
I am jumping on a horse, i go to redrigde mountains and i search all the caves looking for iron.
Then i create couple green iron helmets and couple green haubarks-which are blue items. They are the best sellers especially on a busy server.
Every young playes who uses mail need to go thru those two items...
So try it.
Dont play around with a different items, especially green quality because you need to spent a lot on a mats and i dont promise you they will sell.

you can also make a few iron buckles and pop them on ah ever day or so. it's cheap but effective money.
