Ok, so I decided to do Herbalism/Alchemy. I can pretty much understand how to level herbalism (simply finding and cultivating the herbs around). Any advice as to what I should be focusing on when trying to level early on with this?

Also, the first alchemy recipe the trainer offers requires a skill of (15), so how am I to level up alchemy to begin with? Sorry for the noobish question. I am just lost.

When you first learn alchemy, you start with a few basic recipes that you can begin making immediately to skill up to 15. At that point, you can then begin to learn more from the trainers.

It's the same with most production tradeskills, including First Aid and Cooking.

Low level wise, just focus on making whatever is orange and requires herbs you find in abundance like Peacebloom, Silverleaf, Earthroot, etc. While some potions may sell, you may want to just use pots as you make them. If you are a warrior, you may want the Health, +Strength and +Defense potions. Casters will like +Stamina as well Mana Potions.

Thanks for quick response.

I have been finding peacebloom and silverleafs, but I don't understand what you mean by make the recipes I see in orange. The only recipes I see from the trainer are in red, due to me being too low of a level. Is there somewhere else I should be looking for recipes?

You should have recipies that you can do right away, so when you are in your "alchemy" screen, check your "filter" settings to make sure they are showing up.

Open your spellbook (Press P key) and look on the General tab for your Alchemy icon. Click that to open your recipe book for alchemy. You should know 3 recipes immediately upon learning Apprentice Alchemy: Minor Healing Potion, Elixir of Lion's Strength, and Elixir of Minor Defense. These recipes should be listed in an orange colored text. That means making 1 will most definitely give you a skillup. As you continue skilling up, the recipes will turn to yellow (probably will give skillup) to green (might give skillup) to gray (will not give skillup).

Making the recipes in orange will help you get high enough so that recipes sold by the trainer/vendor are no longer red to you =) i.e. learnable.
