Question on changing Secondary skillFollow

#1 Oct 23 2006 at 9:36 AM Rating: Decent
Hi. Im a 45+ Druid Tauren. I have been using FIrst aid as my secondary skill, per suggestion of a friend when I started the game. However, I dont ever use it, seeing as I can heal myself.

I am going to change my secondary skill and want to get some helpful feedback. Fishing sounds like a lot of fun to me(as I love to fish in real life). I am leaning to this. But cooking sounds like it will bring more benefits to me as far as pvp and pve. A side question: Can you eat the food that instantly gives 100 energy in cat form?

One option to my delema would be to create another toon strictly for cooking. But to get some of the higher recipes I will have to level it eventually.

Well, thats about all I have to say. Please leave me some helpful feedback or links to site or threads to help me make a decision. By the way, I have read the sticky on all the skills.
Thanks for your time.
Peace

I'm confused..you can have fishing, first aid -and- cooking at the same time. how can you be lvl 45+ and have missed that?

Well, when I had just started i was told you could only have one secondary profession. So I never asked. Well, I feel like a real *** now. But Im more the wiser because of it.
Thanks for the help.

You have a maximum of two main professions, and as Sariz stated, all three secondaries (which are no penalty to your main professions)- which gives you a grand total of five professions possible.

I highly recommend taking up all three secondaries, since they can all benefit you in some way. Fishing can be used to make money or get fish that help regenerate health (and some fish boost stats). Cooking can go hand-in-hand with fishing, since you can get recipes that let you cook the fish you catch. Cooking also gives you food that can increase health regen and boost stats. Finally, bandaging is good for a few reasons, even for characters that can heal: You can heal yourself at no mana cost, and you can heal other players if you're OOM. Once you use a bandage, you have a cooldown on the bandaged person- but you can bandage multiple people one after another as long as they haven't been bandaged recently.

As an example, you're low on mana, and just finished a fight. Three people are low on health and calling for heals. You can either drink a beverage to get mana up, heal everyone and re-drink, or bandage everyone (using no mana) while your mana slowly regens. You then sit & drink the rest of your mana regen. Also, while in combat, you may want to make bandages with spare cloth to pass to other players- that Rogue that ran out of bandages might be able to bandage you next battle! Smiley: boozing

I've been in a few situations where the healer was busy, and I ran up to a squishie and bandaged, allowing them to get off a few more AoEs. A simple bandage can be the difference between a wipe and a victory.

You can also run into situations (*cough* Kurinaxx *cough*) where you are seriously damaged and silenced at the same time - bandaging yourself can really make the difference there.
