Calling All Fishermen/women :)Follow

I've heard that running up and down the coasts of Tanaris, is a good way to fish Stonescale.

I've also heard that deviate fish are worth fishing (Barrens i think).
I really don't know, my highest fishing skill on any of my toons is 27^^

Deviate fish = 27S 50C    Stack of 20 = 5G 50S 
Deviate Delight = 41S 25C Stack of 20 = 8G 25S 
Stonescale Eel = 75S      Stack of 20 = 15G 

Which puts paid to your contention that deviate (raw or cooked) makes more than eels.

Back to the original question. Stonescale eels are found in three main zones: Azhara, Feralas, and Tanaris. Tanaris is probably the easiest of the three to fish in, since you can fish the coast with little danger of being attacked.

Feralas is a bit harder if you try fishing the shore of the mainland, but if you are Alliance, you can fish for them at Feathermoon.

Azhara is arguably the hardest of the three, but the rewards can be greater, because there are also the elemental pools there.

Bring lures, even if you are at 300 fishing.

They are just like pools of fish, but found in Azshara, and you can catch Elemental Water and other things like that from them. You can read more about it at Thalen's Guide to Elemental Water fishing.
