i solo my levels and skin and craft everything in the feild. i usually just sell everything back to vendor. or am i missing something?? i checked the AH and could find alot of stuff. it just does not sell very well.

Any tips and or suggestions would be appreciated.

Welcome to the world of leathercrafting. Sadly, most of the armor you can make at that level is shadowed by better drops. While the LW stuff rocks for making it yourself, it does not yield as well as other items. My advice is sell those nifty armor kit's and quiver's/ammo pouches, while you may not gain level from making this stuff, you might make some money back. Or also try just selling your leather on the AH for cash. As a fellow leatherworker, i also had problems making money when it came to be mount time. I sold thick armor kit's and quiver's for income. I hope this works for ya.

PuggX, the solution is not too far off.
make an alt, and level them to level 5(this should take about a hr and a half) and take enchanting as your profession, now as you make items with leatherworking(well the items you use to get skill adds)you can send them to your Disenchant Alt. from that point you can just sell the enchanting mats at the AH, sure at low levels the trun arround is poor, but about 180-190 leatherworking you will start to see some cash(well more than you get by vendoring).... well usualy.

I have a 300 skinner/300 DS LW. It is not it anyway a good profit maker. At the very high levels, if you get an Epic recipe and have access to raids for mats you can get some cash. At lower levels you just can't. I wish I hadn't bothered and took mining or herbalism. I know you have invested time and money but i would seriuosly consider binning it and going the two gathering professions route. Once you get to 40+, have some cash and your mount you can then go back and relearn it quite quickly.

I was 300LW / 300Skinner. I only rarely made money. The decent epic LW patterns are difficult to get as they require honour grinding or raid drops etc. Once you get them, the mats are the problem.

I dropped LW last night for mining and spent the evening from 6pm till 10pm skilling up and smelting. So far I have skill lvl 167 and have made 60g selling basic bars of ore ie copper and Iron. Not much to start with but for the time and effort I think it has worked out better.

I wont go back.

i really dont understand whats the problem on how you didnt make money.
so far i am making a killing at lvl 26 with 225. on Dusky belts Barbaric leggings Dusky leggings and a few others. my skinning is 220 i dont have the best gear but all of my gear is made by me i gather all my mats and stock up then pick a day for crafting then sit down and craft. no i am not swimming in a sea of gold but i am not hurting either. i pick out mobs that drop the items i need to craft and go kill them for exp. like silverpine road. the spiders there are 20-25 and drop fist size spinnerets spider palp and spider's silk. i know all it takes it 4 medium leather. 2 spider's silk. and a few other misc items to make toughened leather gloves they sell for 2-3 gold on my server. the people that buy items off of AH are the lazy ones who price the items way to high they try selling at 5-4 gold i will sell them at 3 g all day long. yeah you can sell about 4-5 pair daily so for me a lowly lvl 26 thats good money. not to mention the exp i get and the other vendorable stuff.

like last night to get my skinning to 235 i followed behind a Ally bot that was lvling in the yetti cave near Tarren mill. and skinning everything he was killing.

yesterday i was at 173 and powerleveld my LW to 225 by spending only 6 g and having the mats all laid out for me by previously farming them.(the leather)
no it isnt the biggest money maker. But i am making good gold. and getting skill ups in my chosen craft. and having fun grinding.
