Alchemy, Stuck at Level 150Follow

#1 Sep 18 2006 at 2:02 AM Rating: Decent
ANYONE... I don't understand why the expert Alchemist stopped giving me upgrades, how do I get past level 150?? I went to different expert Alchemists, but it's the same problem, nothing is available to learn. Journeyman is lvl 1-75, Expert is lvl 76-150, Master is lvl 151 to 225, and Artisan is lvl 226 to 300. Am I suppose to go to a Master Alchemist or something? If so, where is he?

Also, where can you get Recipes for other potions? Because I am guessing that these Alchemist trainers don't teach you everything. Right?

Thanks for your help !

P.S. I am level 28 atm

you need to speak to your expert trainer

details over at http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/guides.html?guide=361

Recipes come from different sources; the trainer, loot drops (often in the Auction House), vendor purchases, quests.

As soon as you can learn the next level of your tradeskill, the trainer you have been seeing will always tell you where you need to go next for the next piece of your training.

I don't think this is true. Particularly in cases where the next level of training comes from a book, I have had great trouble finding any information on where to go next in game. I usually refer to the Trainer List here in those cases.

Well, I just explained that I am speaking to an Expert Alchemist, and they have nothing more to say to me. They don't offer any new recipes, nor do they tell about the next level trainer. So, I don't get it, I qualify to move on, I am level 29 with Alchemy skill of 150. There is a sticky on this trade forum that explains the different levels:

Level 5 - maximum skill is 75 (need to be at least 50 to raise).
Level 10 - maximum skill is 150 (need to be at least 125 to raise).
Level 20 - maximum skill is 225 (need to be at least 200 to raise).
Level 35 - maximum skill is 300 (this is the highest skill alone can take you).

There are 4 titles called Journeyman, Expert, Master, and finally Artisan. Just type in the keyword "alchemist" in the search box. There are plenty of Journeyman and Expert Alchemist trainers, but I noticed that there is only one Master and one Artisan Alchemist trainer for each faction.

Apparently, I have maxed out the Expert level, because I can't train past 150. So, am I suppose to seek out the Alliance Master Alchemist now? If so, why the hell is the Alliance Master Alchemist on the Kalimdor side??? And the Horde Master Alchemist in Eastern Kingdoms? That's backwards! I live in Darkshire, and before I realized all this, I had traveled all the way to Swamps of Sorrow thinking/assuming the trainer was for Alliance, but is was Horde! Man, this is frustrating, someone please explain what's going on... thanks.

talk to the artisan trainer, not the expert. They'll teach you to 225. You talk to the master trainer (whom there is only one of, probably is some out of the way forest of icky nasty death...or a pleasant meadow...whichever) to get 300 cap at 35.

Edit: The artisan trainer is in Darnassus for alliance

That's very strange. I was very sure Alchemy trainers direct you to speak to the next trainer when you are ready.

Dude, you have to go to Darnassaus.

It's a long way to go, but when there, go to the Alchaemy vendor in Tradesman Terrace, and speak to the highest level trainer there - artisan.

A artisan trainer trains you in master level alcaemy.

Hope this helps.

Oh, okay man. For some reason I thought the Master trainer came first before the Artisan trainer. I'll travel to Darnassus like you suggested, thanks!

226-300 Artisan alchemist trainer is in Feathermoon, the smaller of the two islands west off the coast of Feralas - first time there must take the boat.

I haven't found that trainers consistently direct you to the next level of training. Often they'll stare blankly right back at you :)

The whole issue of going to an Artisan to get Expert training, and a Master to get Artisan training, and so on, continues to be confusing to everyone.

The (Alliance) Artisan that will teach you Expert Alchemy (150 - 225) after level 20 and skill 125, is Ainethil, in the Alchemy shop, Craftsman's Terrace, Darnassus. http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/mob.html?wmob=4160

The (Alliance) Master that will teach you Artisan Alchemy (225 - 300) after level 35 and skill 200, is Kylanna Windwhisper, in Feathermoon Stronghold, Feralas. http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/mob.html?wmob=7948

Beyond that, you'll soon discover that spells from about 250 onward are not taught by a trainer at all, and need to be found through questing, hunting down hidden vendors in remote corners of the world, or squishing nasty monsters who somehow manage to hold the only recipe.

Advanced trainers are located in more and more difficult places in the world, to add to the exitement, and overall difficulty, of achieving excellence in a skill.

Find a table of these basics for Alchemy (and other professions and secondary skills) at http://www.giddygamer.com/wow/basics.html You'll also find a full list of trainers for each profession under "Professions".

It's true for main tradeskills that involve crafting.

It is true, for every single profession in the game. He won't give you a quest to go to the next trainer though, you have to actually read what he says as greeting when you open the conversation. This works for me on all crafting skills, as well as to find the books and master trainers for cooking, fishing and first aid ...

I'm having the same problem with the expert alchemy trainer in Stormwind. she just looks at me and give no directions to the next trainer. So it would seem to be a problem. Thanks for the info, now I just need to figure out how to get to Darnassus.

where do you catch the boat to get to Feathermoon?
#18 Oct 12 2006 at 11:06 AM Rating: Decent
There's a dock on the western shore of Feralas.

You can actually swim to feathermoon from the coast of Feralis, although there are lvl 40something elite giants and water elementals roaming around the coastline, and if you travel at the wrong angle you'll cross open water and risk drowning from fatigue before you reach the island.

I actually mannaged to cross the open waters before my fatigue was completely depleted, and if your in your 40's you can avoid aggroing the water elementals and elite giants if you stear clear from them.

There's also a repeatable quest where you can shrink those mean giants to a "more mannagable size" and give them the trounsing they diserve for all the griefing you'll face if you don't take the boat.

BTW if you stay on the road and take the fork to the coastline, you cant miss the boat, and you will avoid much conflict from the scaries!
