I refuse to pay 4 mil for a Martial KnifeFollow
I'm looking to buy a Martial Knife for 3 mil. I'm not paying 4 mil for that piece of... poo.
I'll sell you one for 6 mil.
But this is why you should "buy ahead," my THF is only 68 and I have one, gotta be ready for price-hikes.

Problem is, I once had it lol. I sold it around two months ago to buy my scorpion harnesss. I was a mil short and needed gil (I actually don't regret it, the day after I bought my Scorp Harness, it started soaring in price. I got a now 20 mil item for 6 mil).

Its better than the piece of **** I'm using now lol. Got a deal and bought one for 3.5 mil.
Marital Knife is a piece of trash lol.
I might get flamed...but I actually prefer the martial knife, I haven't found a dagger I liked better...even blau dolch..I've experimented with a few others, but I keep coming back to my martial. I know blau dolch is supposed to be uber for a thief, but I wasn't impressed the one time I used it, I'll get it eventually but until then I don't see a viable option for my martial. I've tried gully, misercorde...a few others I might try if I can get my hands on the gil. Hoplites Harpe I don't like, damage was nice, but delay killed me, although it might be different now with Sirocco, Harpe....well I don't have the gil for that dagger. I just don't understand why Martial is frowned upon, it's a good dagger in my opinion...

If you aren't impressed with Blau dolch you:
1) Use Shark Bite too much.
2) Don't use DE enough.
3) Don't ws spam.
4) Only look at WS dmg not DoT.

Don't forget the blau also has a hidden trait of +16 atk when the latent is active. It's pretty hard to beat. It's a really high drop rate off Totentanz also, if you can get a group to do it. We just got one for a thf in our LS today.

The one time I used it was in an xp party and most often times than not I'm using Shark Bite. You're right as well, I didn't pay much attention to my DOT, unfortunately I rarely do in xp parties, but in solo situations I do. I assumed it would be better with DE, in the case in which I used Blau Dolch though, for me I felt I did better with Martial. But again that was just my opinion and only the one time I've used Blau Dolch. As I said before, I'll get it eventually and I'll try it out more extensively. I'm gonna have to end up buying it, I'm sure I can get a few people to help with Totenhanz, but getting 18 people to help out getting a 20 million dagger? Unlikely, I hate to say it. That's even if it's still at 20 million. Again though, what's a better option than Martial out there for those of us that don't have Blau Dolch?

Congrats to Azmodius for that. It's not hard to beat as long as you get together alot of blms and mnks. I've been trying to convince my LS to do a Totentanz run for this...
Yeah, it seems silly not to help the thieves in your LS get it. It's an easy fight, and the drop rate is around 50/50 on the dagger. Corse cape also seems to be close to 100% from it, so that's a decent chunk of gil if no one wants it. And if nothing else, it's a free 3.5k exp ^^.

i had used martial for about a month before i got the blau. someone in LS was looking at the prices on blau last nite in batallia and the JP i asked about his said 50 mil. sounds a little inflated to me as the other people i talked to said they were selling for 20 mil and some say 40 mil. either way that's a big chunk of change. the person i was talking to asked me if i'd buy one for 40mil. my reply was that if i could farm up/synth up/beg/plead/doanythingbutyouknowwhat 40 mil in two months or less, i'd be well pleased with my purchase. 2 months of work for a blau dolch is worth it IMO.

martial knife. i loved martial compared to hoplites harpe /cursespitkickandcursesomemore that dagger. i had used h.harpe way too long and i had gotten used to the monster delay and didn't notice anymore until i got martial. the day i got it seemed like my character had found a bag of crack and had my full share of it.
the martial is a much better choice than the h.harpe IMO. if it's between a NQ harpe and a martial, i dunno there. i've never played with a NQ harpe so the extra damage might sway me, but i doubt it. i like the "hundred blades" feel my character has now and i'm sticking by it. if you're more concerned with bigger damage numbers on WS and you don't really worry about how slow you attack i'm guessing the harpe is more for you (price tag isn't nice tho. last time i looked it was 6 mil)
bionic bug is a fun ENM and the martial drops from that one so i'd suggest getting a party together to do that one if you're not up for paying 3 mil for it. (i'm sure you can find enough people to talk into it since there's a chance the 20 mil gigant mantle will drop from the ENM--and if that drops and the knife doesn't well you just made 3 mil on the split anyways... go buy it)
