6 month ago, I decided to quit Final Fantacy XI for various reasons, basically i got tired of it. But now, I'm thinking about returning. There's a few things I would like to know about the server before i do that.
1. Gil sellers - I despised them when I was playing and I still depise them today. Are there still dozens of them running around the server? did it get better or worse?
2. Economy - How inflated it is compared to 6 month ago?
3. "JP ONRY" - Do most Japanese still have this written in their comments and seem like they have something up their asses about partying with non JP players?
4. Any changes worth mentioning during the last 6 month.

From what I've heard the LS_ gilsellers have all sold their equipment and quit. There are still some gil sellers but to me, they are not to bothersome anymore.
The economy has been on a rollercoaster ride. Being a ranger the prince of ammo can be 90% less or 50% more than the usual.
Some items have doubles/tripled in price as well.
About JP Onry or w/e that comment was, that hasn't changed and I don't see any reason why it would have. The japanese' views on americans haven't changed in 6 months so don't expect a revelation :P

Oh and another thing, recently there have been a lack of lower level players for grouping, almost everyone is near or reaching endgame except a few so expect parties around the valk, qufim, jungle areas to be slow going.
Other than that, Rangers have recieved a modification on how their job is played, a new expansion was announced that adds Blue Mage, additional areas and story.
The future is bright. The game lives on.

Also, the game is going to be released for the Xbox 360, so there will be more new players in the near future.

Worse to me.. haven't seen the LS crew, but that was just Amemet, who cares about that dude. Every few months or so I have to migrate to a different farming area. All the NMs I'm after are still camped to hell by them

Well, definately more inflated, some items seem to be finally atleast leveling off.

Was never 'most' JP players.. and its not about them having a stick up their asses, people would rather pt with people that they can clearly communicate with, thats all.

Gil sellers aren't that bad anymore since SE tweeked some things such as VE LL, and the peacock charm mobs drop a Rare/ex version of what they used to. BCNM's r major money makers then they were. lots of the gil seller LS's moved to the other server in the sever shift. um....
Inflation is a big thing lots of things went way up in price. (utsumi: Ichi (bad sp) is 600k and not 300k. other things that r big r very expensive) other things can be cheap.
JPN views will never change towards us just like how we feel wierd being in an all JPN pt or a spanish pt.
um.... rng is now a ranged job and not melee, peacock charm, EH, Leaping boots r now rare ex (the rare ones drop off BCNM's) new items, X-box 360 comming out Nov 22. New expansion comming around that time with 1-3 new jobs (one is blue mage) new areas, new summons and really just some things that might change FFXi a bit. thats all.

Oddly they're not much of a problem anymore. There are still some gil sellers around but not as many. The LS crew quit the game and so did several others. But there are still some camping serket, cassie, etc. And there are more gil sellers leveling up as we speak. However, for the time being, its gotten a little better. I imagine this'll go up and down repeatedly as time goes on.

Goes up and down. Of course its inflated a bit for a lot of items, but some items went down too. There's more players so the demand is higher. So in general the items cost more for now. However give it time and they'll go back down as the demand goes down.

I don't notice this so much. I saw it in comments before a bit but I really don't get ignored by JPs a lot. They'll still pick JPs first mind you just like we'll pick NAs first. But... they'll pick up an NA probably.
