making gil?Follow

#1 Sep 13 2005 at 9:57 AM Rating: Decent
i craft but im not very high in smithing only about lvl 10 its gotten me some nice gil but just not enough, as i go through different threads and stuff i keep seeing BCNM and wonder which i could possibly do considering my highest is lvl 30 mnk and with the BCNM are they soloable or only done in a pt?

yes this may sound nubish but this is coming from a person who has been playing for over a year mostly because i have bad luck getting a pt, the longest ive waited was like 6 days with no invite so most of the time i just sit with the flag up and as im getting higher in lvl the equip is getting to cost more and more.

i ask here because i dont know anyone esle in game that is willing to tell me and or help me with info.

thanks in advance :)

Vanyal, my crafting mentor (^_^), would say that crafting doesn't start to make the big gil until higher levels. I make pretty decent money with level 60 leathercraft and many hours farming tigers, dhalmels, and sheep.

I don't have a lot of experience with BCNMs, but yeah, you need a party for them (though I think there're some low-level BCNMs that are soloable for certain jobs, but I don't think MNK is one of them).

I still think gardening is the easiest way to make bunches of gil. And Pikko Pots is probably the best site for gardening info.

Since your highest level is 30MNK, I suggest you work on unlocking all the jobs, and level them all up to 10. If you're lucky with the drops, you could possibly earn around a million gil doing that.

Soloing low lvl jobs and hording crystals, is a great way of making gil for lower lvls. also stacking items u may find while soloing low lvl jobs and selling them once ur stacks are complete is a nice way of slowly building up gil. if ur from windy i suggest findings mobs in horuto ruins that u can kill for drops. May take hours of killing to see a decent profit, but patience is a virtue.

Responding to the OP: Eeki had a good suggestion about leveling up lowbie jobs from 1->10. You obtain crystals and some pretty good drops. *remember to get signet*

Using Windurst as an example:

Crawlers drop silk threads, crawler calculases, earth crystals
Bee type mobs drop honey, beehive chips, insect wings, wind crystals
yagudo mobs drops yagudo necklaces, yag. feathers, wind crystals

Pretty much kill everything you run across.

Current prices on Ragnarok:
silk thread /stack ~ 50k
crawler calculases /3 ~ 600 gil from quest
earth crystal /stack ~ 1k
beehive chips /stack ~ 8k
honey /stack ~ 3k
insect wing /stack ~ 1k
wind crystal /stack ~ 3k
yagudo necklaces ~ 500
yag feathers ~ 1k
fire crystal /stack ~ 4k

If you want to kill stuff quicker, use selbina milk for hp regen and meat mithkabob to do more damage. The two items cost gil to purchase but are well worth the usage.

Take care and good luck.

If you don't mind dying, you could always do the 3 chest 50 seal one in balgas dias. If you pick the right chest you get the rewards, if not you have to fight. Being 20 levels below cap, you probably won't make it to the exit if you do have to fight. I don't know if it's worth risking 50 seals on when you only have a 1 in 3 chance of picking the right chest.

The only other one I know that can be soloed so far is Shooting Fish and that's only as summoner. A lot of the bcnms are for parties of 3 and not 6 and some of the ones at 6 can be done with less memebrs if the setup is right.

Don't be discouraged if you lose your first few rounds, especially if you go with unexperienced people. Once you get the hang of them they are pretty fun and easy.

Cardians in Horutoro(sp) drop Light Crystals as long as they're EP-> and you have Signet.

Tiffie, even if you try to run the Mimic will draw you in. Best bet is RDM/BLM for chainspell >> escape. I know this because I used to use this BCNM to make gil. There was a glitch but it's been fixed so I have to do the other BCNMs like everyone else now ;;
