Just wanted to ask if anyone else on this server is running into a lot of fake dc'ers. I personally have had my fair share of this, more then I'd care to have experienced during the weekend. I haven't seen a subject related to this topic and am just tired of it, lol, like me posting this will change anything, but it does get it off my shoulders for the time being that is. Whelp ttyl and gl guys...Hope to see some of you in game:D

I haven't seen this myself. But I understand, I think: If someone's going to bail on my PT with a deliberate DC, I'd better not see him logged on a few minutes later ... !

Now get back to crafting. And send me money for Mahogany Lumber ; ; :P

I was partying in the Dunes with a few of my linkshell mates and we had to invite a couple others to fill the void. A blm was one of the ones we invited. We were doing well, I don't know what his problem was, to be honest. But after about a half hour he said he was tired and logged off. So we're still there and we see him pop back on maybe an hour later and throw up his lfp flag. I don't remember his name, though x.x And he wouldn't respond to our questions or taunts about it being morning already, lol

There was a thread in here somewhere about funny excuses to leave a pt. I've seen some pretty interesting ones, like the girl who's dog had a heart attack. Another guy had to walk his cat...
One that seemed harmless enough at first but got me thinking for a second, was a dude who had to go pick his mom back up from the grocery store. I mean, how friggin addicted to this game do you have to be to drop your mom off at the store for 30 minutes and then drive back over to get her rather than just staying there? Anyways, my 2 gil. -Boog

Well... I just /blist these people and move on. No sense wasting my life worrying about these people.

Maybe one day I'll find out if the /blist has a limit to the number of people you can add.

I've had it happen a few times. If someone needs to go without warning, I'm cool with it as long as they at least say they do. The fake dcing sort of sucks. I've had one or two cases before when I got into a party and after an hour or so was needed by friends for something else and had to go. While I feel bad for doing that, I'd rather be honest then fake a dc.

Same with real life issues. Stuff comes up. It's a given. If anyone expects you to put a party over real life things, they are a tad bit insane, imo. But have the courtesy to say something came up and leave like a normal person.

And if you only need a few thousand experience to get to the next level, try an enm instead of eating up a party spot for someone who is willing to stick it out. Depending on level it can be real hard to get an invite no matter what your job just because of lack of places to fight. Why eat up a spot for someone who is willing to stick it out when you can accomplish what you want in an enm and stay out of an already overcrowded area?

I was in a Qufim party when someone said that a bunch of people on his football team were killed in a car accident. He was giving details about hysterical family members, and insisted that he needed to log. He wasn't logged off for more than 5 minutes when he was back on lfp. That's.... offensive.

I havent seen too much of it but on the rare occasion someone goes afk or falls asleep (and they were an ***). Well let me just say it's a long walk home from sky and moon.

Someone disconnecting during a BCNM run after she got hers is much more irritating. She didnt get an erase and someone opened the crate for her. This actually happened twice and i only did 2 BCNMs. Now i'm staying away from BCNMs as much as i can.

I usually tell my party as early as possible how many hours i have. Once i told this party i have 6 hours left. They told me to remind them later lol.

I'm a Fan of the 30 Minute Rule. Unless someone is Profusely Bleeding, I give 30 Min to a Party before I have to go.

A Respect thing I guess, hell, I typically even look for a Replacement before I go, and wait until they are in the Zone, If I have the time available.

Fake Disconnects and that person Quietly being back on in less then 5 min, w/o a Word, is Uber Shady x_X

I repect you all.

Does this mean we can have sex now?

Still, there is a distrubing lack of courtesy and respect on this server. And it only seems to be getting worse.

I only fake Dc when its right, like leaving a gilseller in the wrong campspot then DC. Yep, that'll show them notto give blind invites.

You want no respect? These people doing these things make me sick.

My sister was in a car accident while I was PTing in Labyrinth of Onzozo, and I said, after the fight, "I absolutely have to go to the hospital, my sister was in a car accident."

I get /party things saying "Yeah, right" and "We aren't that bad", needless to say, I was deeply, deeply offended.

It also taints those of us who actually DC during a party. I have construction going on around my house right now, and occasionally, the electrictions have cut the power to my room (The computer), or our family room (Where the router is), which forces me to lose connection. I log on 2 hours later, once the power is back, and apoligize to my PT members, explaining the situation, only to get skepitcal /tells in return.

Sadly fish I think what you are experiencing is the whole "Punish everyone for the sins of the few".

It's sad. In my mind the people who are disbelieving you are the same one's who will accuse someone of being a gil buyer becuase their gear is better than theirs, accuse someone of being a gil seller if they lose a pop, and just generally find some way to bring everyone down no matter what.

it's a shame people can't just play the game and recognize that there are people who will play better than you, earn more than you, have IRL issues that stop them from playing from time to time, maybe more or less than you, and that when you really break it all down sometimes, '5h1t Happens'.

Way too many people taking this crap WAY too serious.

If I'm in a PT and we Get a DC (Fake or Legit) I give them 5 Minutes before we look for a Replacement. Typically works quite well, and providing the DC Player was not a Douche, everyone is cool waiting 5 Min for a New Guy or the Dc Dood.

5 Minute rule is a good common courtesy, Imo. Enough time for a Pc / Router reboot.

Have you tried using the phone filters used for DSL?
Your ISP is SUPPOSED to give you at least 3 of those... >.>;

And I know it'll help camping Argus...

Personally i try to tell pple if i have to go to get me a replacment but there are times i just have to go
(lol it happens your look at current time "ahh i got ages till my driving lesson" you start haveing fun and an hour seems like 30 mins the ring ring "afk phone" ... "omg i'm 20 mins late sry guys i gotta go" lol and the number of times i've seen the seen rise and thought WTF it's 5am already >.>)
So say i'm sorry and just log plus there are other times when FFXI crashs and it takes so long for me to get back on (SE needs to do more research on error trapping)
