This is my first time posting and my first time trying to find a NM. L Lizzie. I never know it could be so difficult. Does anyone have any suggestions or easy way outs?

Well, lizzie is either a level 9 or 10, so the best strategy is to be around level 15 or higher to fight him and win. Notorious Monsters are much stronger than regular monsters, so L lizzie is like a level 13-14 (or higher) lizard. So, being 5 levels or higher and having the most up to date equipment is your best bet.

HAHAHAHAAHHAAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111oneoneone

Okay, enough kidding. You'll never get Leaping Lizzy.

The drop rate is BAD, the camping company is WORSE, and the jerk who grabs him gets a million gil for the freakin boots.

Personally, I'd say hunting NM would ONLY be practical if their "UBER" drops were EX. HA! Sell this NM item for a mil. will ya?! ><

IF you want to hunt NM- hunt one ppl don't typically go after, Stinging Sophie-(near bastok) the ones in Ron Perre's Tomb.. Whatever :3

Honestly though... Leaping Lizzy is a PAIN. I'm 0/6 on him. And I've spent about 70~ hours camping the brat. TOO MANY PPL HUNT HIM! >< I've showed up before, had 12 ppl glare at me, and teleport out. :/ I would say its more over camped than the VALKURM EMPEROR!

(I'm working on a theory that LL is a ***** who sleeps with the VE.. <-,<-;; Once you kill enough of their "villagers" they leave their little floating house (the big rock you circle around while looking for LL..) and try to get claimed by someone other than myself :3 I swear, its sooo true.)

hey the ll is prolly not guna happen and to the other person who said to camp the less pop. ones is right. but dont go to the one in rampares tomb cuz he is heavaly camped as well. NMs are really anoing to camp and i would personaly try and get money another way. try crafting. culanary, goldsmithing, and woodworking pay out nicely

I WONT even bother checking the date on the thread
(i just wanna say something)

getting the lizard (i wont say the bloody name) is not that hard

but whats really annoying are

1- lv60+ ppl who got nothing better to do than camping a lv9 mob

2- lv60 stupid thfs (not all thfs are stupid just the ones i saw there) who camp it wearing the boots
(cmon ppl its RARE)

3- getting the claim (with a lv15 samurai haha) and not getting the drop (cuz i think i killed it with a WS)

3- someone just passing by and claiming it (oh crap)

so im done with lizards and will be living in king w/e's tomb

As a rule, I find NM camping a bit tiresome and my eyes start stinging from checking widescan so much. However, I have killed Leaping Lizzy a few times (no drop). A couple of those times was when I was running back through SGusta as RNG and noticed that there were a hell of a lot of normal liazrds on WS. This is a good indication that there's no-one camping, so I thought I may as well hang around and see if LL pops after a few rounds of lizard slaughtering, which she did. I reckon this is probably the best strategy for a "casual" NM camper - /sea sgusta often, and if it looks like there aren't that many people around, have a quick scout out. Otherwise, she's so over-camped you'll have to fight all the competition. I have literally run into her accidentally a couple of times, most amusingly as lv11 DRK with no MP and half health, and was thankful for Blood Weapon! Got about 12 exp from it too!

I was recently out levelling a mule in that general area, and did see LL on three successive pops (about 50mins between each one) being claimed by various campers. One strategy could be to have your main logged out at the LL spawn area while you're levelling a mule, which would allow you to scope out the area, then you could log back to your main when it was approaching pop time.

Quite a few people like the competition and buzz of NM camping, but if you're after drops for gil purposes only, you need to work out how much money you'd make during the time it takes for you to get the drop. One guy mentioned he'd spent 70 hours camping LL; I know I can make a lot more than 1m gil if I devote 70 hours to crafting, so work out what's more cost and time-effective for you.

Here, I'll give you some REAL suggestions:

--To Claim
1. Raise THF to 25 or 45 (TH 1 and 2 + Flee)
2. Sub RNG or BST for Widescan
3. Pick your spot and spam Widescan
4. Use Darts to pull

--To Fight
1. Do not kill with a Weapon Skill
2. Don't use a DoT spell to kill it (Poison, Bio, etc)
3. Don't use your 2hr
4. DO NOT, under ANY circumstances, hunt LL while WEARING Leaping Boots

Be patient. You'll probably miss multiple spawns. But the pest things in life are worth waiting for.

If you ever need a camping buddy, just give Beldin a /tell in-game and I'll be more than happy to help if I am not currently busy.

Has anyone found actual proof that this lowers the drop rate? I've always noticed (or thought I noticed) that I got less drops if I try to farm using WSs, but I figured that I was just imagining it :x

I tested it a few times with my old 47 THF...

The rumor seemed to hold true

1. For it's price it's a great way to make money

2. They are probably camping it with/for a friend, or weren't planning on camping it and just got sucked in (NM camping is addicting)

3. Thats always fun

I've claimed lizzy as a thf/nin, a thf/war and a thf/rng. Both aren't that hard to claim with. If you are camping without widescan, what you must do is run around and kill lizards :x and time the way your killing them so that you' ve killed all the lizards and just wait for the cycle to start again, that way you can usually be by him when he spawns.

Also, to people saying his drop rate sucks.. mabey its just me but.. i'm 4/9, was 4/7 before.. and thats not the best drop rate.

If you want to see a bad drop rate go camp things like Sozu Sogberry, and Lord of Onzozo near endgage.

edit: btw using a weapon skill does nothing, just superstision like stealing from behind or during spells

Also - further to the post right above, by Deadgye.....doesn't matter what level the mob is - the boots are the best piece of feet equip for a few differnt jobs until at least the 50-60's in some jobs cases.
