A very thief....not rpg one. My bad experienceFollow

Hi all. I'm an Italian man that play FFXI. Sorry for my bad english, but all the people need to know that, i'll try to explane as well as possible:

My server is Ragnarok, my character name is Matth. Right now i'm a DRK60, and i'm farming to buy an Haubergeon.
I havn't a lot of time to spent on the game in this period, in fact i did 450k in one month (and Haub is 1.6M).
Today a Mithra named Sinepekili was shoutting that she sell a Sniper's Ring at 450k. I though that was an occasion, and i /told she.
She offered to trade with me. I put 450k and she put the Sniper's, when i pushed "Ok" she switched sniper's ring with a leather ring (lvl1), same skin.
I told she, but she put the Away Status On and running per Port Jeuno.. then logout.
I called a GM, he sayd that can't do nothing and hope that i learned something to this experience.
Now i have a question.. in this game all the spell, all the weapon, all the armor, all the mission and all the quest have a reason, then, why GM havn't a reason in this game? They can't do nothing in all the cases... bah
BTW, my advice is to stay alert with this stupid player, this time was my fault.. i lost all my money, pay attention guys (and f**k Sinekepili).

Everyone needs to read this. This is 3rd time I have heard of this happening in the last 2 days. I was in oz 2 days ago helping a friend get a coffer key when some Mithra thf there joined up with us to help for a bit. She mentioned this had happened to her and someone she knew.

This person is more than likely deleting the character after they scam the said individual as the name in that pic is not the same as the the thf mentioned.

A simple solution to this problem:

Always always ALWAYS insist on having the seller bazaar the item. If he/she refuses, then you have a scammer on your hands.

i was in jeuno doing a cop cutscene in the infirmary when i saw the same shout out, me and my friend both said "hmmm that is pretty cheap".

i felt for ya after man, that is a lot of money to be stolen. I knew that a GM would be able to do nothing about it though :(.
it was pretty amazing that the person in question was still spamming the same message in lower jeuno after as well.

The bazaa idear is the best solotion i think, sorry again for your loss mate.

^^ the best thing i've heard send about GM all day ^^, what do they do? well they stop gil seller... wait no... stop mpk... no... oo wait nope, darn guess they, o wait suspend honest hard working players who get mad... yes.... then there's the maint, (off topic), but anyone ever notice that maint. only happens dure american playtime(daytime) not during jp... ok i'm done.
and matth sorry u had to go through that, 450k is alot to lose, consider that cheater blisted.
