Veteran player coming to RagnarokFollow

I also just came to Ragnarok from Caitsith, where I had a rank 6 55BLM, a 35DRG, and every other job levelled to at least 5 (most 10+). I'm also interested in finding a nice linkshell. If you think I'm crazy for giving all that up and starting over, you'd understand if you played on Caitsith. ^_^

I'm only level 5 THF right now (started yesterday evening after update). Not sure what my ultimate plan is yet. I just want to get that damn Treasure Hunter stuff out of the way first. I know my level is low, but I'm like a machine at low levels. I'll be up to at least subjob level in no time, provided the maintenance ever finishes. ^_^;

Anyways, I'm hanging around Windurst right now, so /wave if ya see me.

Yeah, I actually did some research and forum reading and determined that Ragnarok was where I wanted to go. ^_^ It seems to be the friendliest server. For example, if you look through the forums on this website, the Ragnarok forum is just about the only one that doesn't have a "Who's on your BList?" or "Watch out for this player!" thread (I hope I haven't jinxed it).

I do see threads on this forum complaining about the GMs, but in almost nine months of playing I haven't had to call a GM once, nor has one been called on me, so I'm not too worried.

Caitsith had a real problem with egos, which is funny since no NA linkshell has beaten Kirin on that server...something which has happened (that I know of) on Bahamut, Garuda, and Phoenix servers already. But the high levels on Caitsith just think they're the most uber in the universe...not just at the job they do, but everyone else's job as well. As a result, they'd have a contrary opinion to just about everything I'd say.

Me: "I think when I'm using a wand, I'll use a Lilith Rod because the INT+5 and Aspir effect are great"
High-level know-it-all: "Nuh-uh...Mythic Wand is better! It has INT+8."
Me: "I know, but I'm only level 55...Mythic Wand is 10 levels higher than I am."
HL: "It's still better."
Me: "What level is your BLM?
HL: "1"
Me: "... <Good bye.>"

Another thing I'd always hear from them is, "This game doesn't really start until level 75" along with, "Only the best of the best can get a job to 75." And *anyone* who was a lower level than them, even only a few levels, was automatically called a noob. In my LS there was an argument between a level 75 and a level 72, and the level 75 actually called the other a noob...and he was serious about it!

It was really taking the fun away, so I decided to start over.

And that's my rant about Caitsith. I will never mention them again. ^_^

Try running through lower jeuno at japanese time at night when the americans are still on. Lagnarok it is..

But the only reason I haven't left to one of the newer servers yet is because I wanted to learn the game before I leave the server for one with a few more english.
