I am completely tornFollow

As most of you know, my wife and I like to frequent the theater when time and money permits. Being on the Mirvish productions mailing list, yesterday I received the 2006-2007 season line-up and subscriber's price list. Here is the lineup:

Link for descriptions of shows:

MARTIN SHORT: FAME BECOMES ME
MONTY PYTHON'S SPAMALOT
LEGENDS!
PIPPIN
ORPHEUS DESCENDING
PHANTOM OF THE OPERA (Yes! It has come back!)
e-DENTITY

Based on this line-up I'm basically drooling like a teenage boy looking at his first **** mag. My epeen can not get much harder.

The problem here is that each season ticket for decent seats is $540 CAN. This means that I need $1080+tax in the next 10 days to secure my seats. Unfortunately, I am in the middle of negotiations with my financial planner and bank which has tied up my cash-flow for at least another 15 days. I do not know the words to describe the anxiety.

In a nutshell, this thread is completely pointless, save for the opportunity to give you a reason to point and Smiley: lol at my current misfortune and predicament.

My vote would be for Spamalot; from all I hear it's a very good, very funny show!

I agree, it sounds like an amazing show and I have been dying for it to come to Toronto. My problem is I can either spend $1K now and get a package deal, or I have to try to get tickets for each show individually later, which will be worse seats guarenteed. On top of that, the $1k is 60% off regular price, meaning to see all shows would normally cost just under $2k after taxes.

It looks like this is going to be a paramount year for good theater in Toronto, I just don't want to miss it. Smiley: frown

I'd be so torn between Spamalot and the Phantom of the Opera. But if you are able to get season tickets at such good prices, can't you just credit card them and then put the cash back after your negotiations?

All credit is on hold since I'm negotiating a very large restructuring of credit and assets. If I credit card something, it changes the ratios. Smiley: frown

You can't take anything out of savings too? Smiley: cry I'd beg, borrow and steal for a line up like that.

If at all possible, call the theater company. They may be able to work with you on this, particularly if you've been regular seatholders for a few years.

Borrow some money from family for a couple weeks.

Money between family NEVER causes any problems.

Wicked wasn't on that list, but it's pretty good should you get the chance to see it.

That was a fantastic show. I saw that one last year. That's why I want to see PIPPIN. It's by the same composer.

If "restructuring of assets" means you're trying to come up with a payment plan for significant debt, I'd pass on those tickets. Or go alone and leave your wife at home.
