Just an hour north, to some bumfock Georgia town called Thomaston. It's an hour out of Atlanta. The hubby's work is moving us there; he got a store management position there, so off we go. I'm going to hate it, I already know and have accepted this. The biggest feature of this little 'burb is the Super Wal-Mart, which is apparently the cool place to hang out. They have ONE movie theatre with ONE screen and it only shows ONE movie at a time (right now I want to say they're showing The Shaggy Dog or some crap). We're JUST close enough to downtown to get DSL so at least I'll have high-speed.
But, aside from living in a town full of rednecks, in some Middle Georgia podunk whose main employer (a paper mill) has recently laid off all their employees (so of course the job market there is stagnant), where anyone with the telltale signs of the Gay Gene (you know... nice clothes that don't clash, or the tendency to schedule showers without the need to refer to the lunar calendar) is earmarked as a heathen (or a hairdresser, because if you're a hairdresser it's kinda ok if you're gay no matter where you go) an hour away from the nearest friend or acquaintence, with no internet connection until we can afford to put in a land line and subscribe to (ugh) DSL, I should love it.
*sigh* Nope, not bitter at all. Besides, it's for my man. Oh! And if I didn't tell you guys before (I can never remember who I've told), we're engaged! We're getting married this summer. Or, well, Civil Union Partnered or Life Bonded or Commitment Ceremony'd or what the hell ever we **** are calling it nowadays.
And Kao, I didn't mean to leave you out. You're my favourite badass admin (don't tell Railus, I don't want him to think he's not badass too). And Haggan and Pikko rock, of course. Alla... eh, I haven't really gotten to know him well enough to say what I think of him, but... after all, if it weren't for him we wouldn't all be here, so shout outs to him too. And anyone else I'm still forgetting. Damn there are a lot of you people.
And I know I've rambled my way through an incoherent post here, but I'm high on coffee and I haven't slept. You'll have to forgive the excessive use of parentheses.
EDIT: Exo, tell the guys I'm sorry for leaving, but I've (re)cancelled my FFXI account. Between City of Heroes/Villains, Second Life, and Guild Wars I don't have the money for FFXI right now. For that matter, I don't have the money for any of them right now, but those will be the MMOs I'll be reactivating. So sorry guys, but no WoW in my future I'm afraid. =(
