I heard that Wendy's chili is basically a cesspool of dropped hamburger patties, bits of meat and grease scraped off the grill, and whatever else might be lying around.

Perfect for that late night drunken stuper food craving!

At the one fast food place I worked at the chili came in a big plastic drum and had to be thawed. Not exactly the greatest, but at least there wasn't any risk of castoff junk in there (other then whatever the place that made it put in of course).

Fortunately, the chili wasn't why people came to that place. It was owned by an Iranian family, and they had yummy non-standard stuff on the menu like Kabobs (suspiciously similiar to a Gyro btw, but with totally different sauces and veggies) and baklava. And those were made from scratch and were *really* good. Burgers were pretty standard, but the shakes were really good as well. All in all, not a bad experience as far as fast food goes.

I heart Wendy's chili, and since my ninja-like stomach has had to deal with eating things that are not up to FDA standards for years, I have no real worries.

As for other fast food, I have a way to by pass this: Buy a magazine, and quit reading your fast food wrapper. What did you expect to find? A treatise on human rights?

The Lent/Fish thing was an extra slip of paper placed in my bag. If someone's passing me additional notes with my food, I usually read them -- it may contain the antidote. Or a coupon.

I guess I would just expect advertising.

Every Wendy's in this town and the next over all closed up after not making any money for 8 months and topped off with a blood filled spit wad in the burger of a cop. Kid went to jail and my Jr. Bacons went bye bye.

I dearly love Wendy's sammiches; I used to get either a big bacon classic, a triple or a spicy chicken up to three times a week for the past few years. Considering I make my own chili from scratch I tend to completely ignore the existence of fast food chili. Taco Bell is another favorite; those Crunchwrap Supremes are good, and I'll eat chalupas, Gorditas and half-pound beef burritos all the time when I worked at the video store that had a TB 3 storefronts down.

As a McDonald's veteran of 5 years I can tell some horror stories about food prep, but if it's done right (ie. you make everything yourself) it can be great.

Attacking fast food marketing is the equivalent of berating this adminstration for their violations of social liberties and their love for big business: no one gives a s'hit anymore.

The only thing mundane about this thread is your lackluster critique...

My brother has that with cherries. My parents were having trouble getting him to take his antibiotic, so they tried to slip him it by hiding it in his cherry yogurt. He threw it up, and since then he hates cherries.

Of the fast food joints, Wendy's has the best quality/tasting food, IMO (yes, even their chili). I don't do the fish there, though.

As for cold deli sandwiches at fast food joints, Arby's deli sandwiches are actually yummier than most of their hot sandwiches.

Hip though? No.

They should forget marketing to the 18-30 crowd and go straight for the 'too tired to cook so I'm going to pick something up on the way home' parents. Who do they think is buying most of their food?

In Canada Wendy's doesn't even sell fish. At least not the ones in my city.

But of all the fast food, Wendy's is about the only one I really care to eat at. That being said, Im not a huge fast food fan.

And yeah, the marketing sucks, and I agree they're definately targetting black people :)

Joph's just mad that they scrapped the ill-conceived Metamucil Happy Meal and they won't serve him prune juice with his McMuffin.
