A 28-year old male was brought into the an emergency room after an attempted suicide. The man had swallowed several nitroglycerin pills (prescribed for certain heart conditions) and consumed a bottle of vodka.
Asked about unusual bruising to his head and chest, the man told doctors he had been ramming himself into a wall in an attempt to make the nitroglycerin explode.

You know how when you first wake up, it seems like only parts of you are awake. You're sluggish, slow-witted, generally stupefied. The condition is known medically as “sleep inertia.” Researchers say it can be as debilitating as being legally drunk.
