Possibly the worst show ever? God why is this show on the air even at 4:30am...

Such a horrible show why must it grace my TV?

This has been an unscheduled waste of your time.

[Bob walks to the front of the set, clicks his tongue and waits for David. David catches on that Bob wants to talk one-on-one, and gets up and goes to him.]

Bob: Dan, I went to school with your father.

[David nods, clueless.]

Bob: Okay, maybe we’re hitting you with a lot of things here. Let me try to explain--we want a really good ********, one worthy of your caliber.

David: But-but I--

Bob: Talk to your wife, take some time to think about it.

John: Not *too* long.

[Bob, John, and Tom laugh. David’s still clueless.]

David: I-I was the f-first in my class.

Bob: Uh-huh.

David: In *law.* I was the first in my class in *law.*

Bob: Well, it should be a very good ******** then. We will await your answer.

David: Well, you don’t have to wait, because the answer is "no." Okay, s-so you can keep your homes and your country clubs and your blow jobs...because I’m gonna be the best damn lawyer in this country! And, I’m gonna go to court and I’m gonna argue every case I can against you and your fat cat clients! *And,* I’m gonna win!

[Bob, John, and Tom laugh, humoring him.]

Tom: Oh my.

David: What? What?

Bob: Do you really believe that course cases are decided by juries making decisions based on evidence and lawyers’ arguments?

Tom: Oh Danny, how could you be so naive?

Bob: Dan, court cases are decided by a series of blow jobs. In fact, our entire civilization is built on blow jobs. Everything from medicine--

[Cut to Paul and Brian in examination room.]

Brian: A ********??

Paul: Oh come on, George, surely you don’t believe that people get well through treatment with medicine or surgery, do you?

Bob V.O.: To religion--

[Cut to Jay in confessional.]

Jay: Come on, you don’t really believe that your sins will be forgiven by saying some prays and doing a few good works, do you?

Bob V.O.: To prostitution--

[Cut to Bob and Sarah on the street.]

Bob: So, I have to give you--

Sarah: You don’t really believe that I just give *you* a ******** in exchange for some money, do you?

Bob: Yeah...

I wouldn't put them on equal footing, but I do love Mr. Show. Monty Python was way ahead of it's time. Both in my top 10 best comedy shows though with MPFC being number 1 - I'd include Kids in the Hall, some of the better seasons of Saturday Night Live, Upright Citizen's Brigade, Reno 911, League of Gentleman and both versions (UK and American) of The Office.

Has anyone caught the new pbs special series on Monty Python's Personal Best? Each episode highlight's each Python's best moments.

I've only seen Eric Idle's so far. I have Graham Chapman waiting on TiVo. Great stuff.

I keep looking longingly at the box set at Best Buy, but I have so many more important things to do with that $70.

Fun show at the time. Some of the cast are now on Reno 911 (Thomas Lennon, Ben Garant, and Kerri Kenney-Silver) and some are on Stella (Michael Ian Black, Michael Showalter and David Wain).

Going even further back, anyone remember Fridays? Michael Richards ("Battle Boy," a hyperkinetic young boy who stages elaborate war scenarios in his backyard with toy soldiers & "****," an overzealous would-be ladies' man.), and Mark Blankfield ("Drugs 'R' Us" Blankfield as a strung-out pharmacist who apparently samples his own goods liberally. Catch Phrases: "I can handle it!" "Take...a..pill!") were great on that show.

You know I do! It was so hit or miss, but when it hit, it was funny as all hell. I have the most beat up crap copy of the "Skits and Stickers" special, but I love it to death. I just wish it had the muppet hunting skit on it and it would be perfect.

One of the best The State shows was the last supper skit. I believe I caused serious damage to my stomach muscles during that one.

"This is blood of my blood and flesh of my flesh."

"I WANNA DIP MY BALLS IN IT!!"

Effin Priceless.

Mr. Show and Kids in the Hall are funny as hell. What about In Living Color? They had some pretty funny *** sHit in there, too.

Mr Show was great. Comedy Central used to play re runs during my lunch hour (edited of course). Was lucky enough to catch a lot of the unedited ones on pay TV (HBO or Showtime, can't remember).

The State along with Liquid Television and The Maxx were the last three shows I ever watched on MTV. Now its full of self hateing, ***** teen, gotta be rich to be happy swill. The State is a classic, I still laugh to myself when I think of the skits.

Two of the greatest sketch comedy shows ever~

Anyone heard about a possible release date for season 2 (and hopefully third season packaged with it)?

Been waiting for years.
