<1> No WoW is not better than FFXI, nor is WoW worse than FFXI you will read a lot of posts on this website telling you how much easier it is to lvl in WoW (Only because you can do it alone and you lose no XP if you die) and that WoW is a crappy game for people who can not handle the dificulties of FFXI (That is to laugh) when FFXI is in fact just about the most care bear MMO I have ever encountered.
Generally the hardest part of FFXI is finding a PT and then after that replacing the asshats with decent players. I mean in FFXI there is no PvP (Balista is a joke) KS or PK the most you have is some jserk getting pissed at you and MPKing you.
The real difficulty in this game is in the competion of other players for NM's and good camps.
In WoW crafting is pretty easy compared to FFXI you gain a level of craft with just about every single item you make using the graft as long as the recipe is colored yellow or orange and a green recipe will gain you a lvl after about 3-5 items. If a recipe has turned grey then it no longer will give you skill ups. The hardest part of Crafting is actually finding the Recipes to craft.
Another thing in WoW that is a bit easier than FFXI is getting money. The economy in WoW is a bit more realistic compared to FFXI or lets say familar being there are three types of currency (Copper, Silver, and Gold) as opposed to one and just about every humanoid mob drops coins for you to loot.
In my opinion the Auction house system in WoW is far better than in FFXI it acts as an actual... uhhh.. Auction house where you battle other players in bid wars and some people even make all thier gold in the game by day trading which means rather than playing the game they camp the AH and look for people who are not in the know to sell an item well below market value and then they snatch it up and sell it for a proper price.
Some things I like about FFXI better than WoW are the graphics FFXI's graphics blow WoWs out of the water, they are a bit cartoony but then again it fits the whole War Craft thing. Um fighting in groups is way better in FFXI than it is in WoW oft times when in a group I find it very chaotic and hard to get behind the mob to back Stab when it is running around all crazy from one person to another lol. Ummm I love the history and missions in FFXI and of course I love all the people I have met in my close to a year of playing which is what keeps me playing.
Some things I like about WoW over FFXI (mind you I am an FFXI player and a WoW player I refuse to pick a side) The vebal emotes and non vebal emotes are great. Every time I see a minotaur crip walk or an Orc start dancing like MC Hammer I nearly die laughing. and since it is one of my RL hobbies the fact you can sit in a bar and get drunk is pretty cool too.
All in all I think that both FFXI and WoW have thier strengths and weaknesses and I hope both stick around for a good long time cause i love them both (Maybe its just the fact that I craft suicide sheep bombs) and will continue to play both as long as I have a job and can afford them XD.

Answer) to get sky access you need to do ZM1-13 To get sea i thing you need to get to chapter 8 (could be wrong on that one >.<)

Answer) Before the last update makeing NM's harder the longer they lived the answer was yes but after that patch sevral friends have told me they can not solo him anymore altho if you have 1 other person 74-75 then you 2 can take him down.

Answer) Lol same reason hey dont put wrds in so you can tell a$hats where to go and how to get their I would guess that or they dont want to help us bridge the gap between JP and english players.

Answer) In all reality they dont have mush of a choise and really dident get gimped just have to use their brian now in order to be good. I think it shows the good from the bad lol

Answer) For most weapons yes but for some the answer is no depends on what lvl you are and what lvl your weapon is the right skill lvl to get the quest but yes 71 is the lowest lvl needed to use the trial weapon.

Answer) The long updates are to improve the gameing eperiance or so they say and reason they allways at U.S. peek hours well I guess they feel thats the best time to do it /sigh >.<

Answer) Well when you go claiming you can fing high priced items like angle skin or so i was told but you also run the risk of busting your bucket and if that happenes you lose all of the contints so the clothing is sapost to help in finding the good items and lowering the chance of your bucket breaking.

Answer) well unfortinatly SE has made some items harder to get and that drives the price up. Then you have crafters that the price of crafting items has went up so they have to up the price on what they are makeing just to break even its sad i know >.<

Answer) only galka mage i lvled was BLM to 17 for warp but I had mp gear no astral rings tho lol so as far as takeing a galka mage to a high lvl with out that gear I cant really answer that question because I dont know.

The reason why this happens during US peek times is becuase the servers are in Japan and this is off peek time for them.

MysteryTour - click missions. I will refer to this link many times, because it is a strict information site and usually is accurate. I only really use allakhazam or somepage if there is an item I need information on or need some more information regarding something.

Make suggestions through the comments and suggestion page, only through player feedback can they improve the system. They don't play the game as much as we do. I find that I've been able to use the Auto-translate fine. Usually the people who don't use it well weren't good with english to begin with, or are smart enough to remember key phrases to get your point across.

Add to that the minor updates that they couldn't detect on their own, and you've got additional 2-3 hour updates here and there. Today's update is server maintenance, the first time I've seen something like this, and they are hopefully putting in measures so we stop crashing as much. They always happen around 8-12am pdt because I guess that's when their technicians are available.

No Voicechat with FFXI, they can't regulate spoken voice, so they aren't doing anything official.

Get some glasses next time you go to the doctor, or learn how to type. The new swimsuits increase "clamming" ability, an activity you can partake in at Purgongo Island.

Because you don't seem to be capable of doing activities that would increase your gil count. There are lots of low level opportunities for making gil. Patience is the key. Look at my signature, 4700/6000 currency for a stage 4 relic axe. That's taken me one year to get that far. If you are patient and work towards your goals, you will achieve them. If you are lazy and a slacker, you'll never figure out why you can't get anywhere.

Because Astral Rings are 1 mil a pop, and that's a lot of money for a low level. Remember it's not your equipment that's most important, it's how you play the game. That's like saying every melee has to have leaping boots and emperor's hairpin in order to be good, when I've seen some horrible players with the best equipment be a complete detriment to the party.

I firmly believe that in FFXI, unlike other games, a degree of intelligence and sense of community is required to be able to succeed in a long term manner. Yes, everyone walks into the game a newbie, but those who are bright will be the ones who recognize opportunities for advancement, and those who work well with others will be the ones to create opportunities to advance everyone they work with.
Just my 2 cents from someone who's been playing for 22 months now (oi vey!)
