How soon is too soon to start looking for RSE?

It's never too soon, per se, but if you had Sneak and Invisible it would probably be better than having your helpers do it for you. RSE requires you to look for a chest and open it in one of three area's: Ordelle's Caves, Maze of Shakikrami, or Gusgen Mines.

As mentioned, you must activate the quest in Jeuno first. The other catch is that it has to be YOUR race's game week in order to get RSE. The Goblin will say something along the lines of 'Hume female in Gusgen' which means that that race can go at that time to try and get their key and chest. This week will alternate between all the races and the time period from the minute the Goblin announces it is eight hours. (I believe).

Getting the key and finding the chest is obviously the hard part. I did my RSE as a 30RDM with a 41WAR helping me, so obviously you don't have to drag out the whole brigade to do it. After you kill key mobs, you run around the area looking for a chest. If it indeed your week AND you have the quest activated, once you pop the chest you will obtain key item: magical pattern. Then you just head back to Jeuno and trade it to the Gobbie for your RSE.

There are sites that provide race times, key mob lists, and chest spawn points -- unfortunately I don't have those at my disposal right now. ><

Hope this helps! ^^

I already have all my RSE gear, but I've still got the quest (I went shopping instead of looking for key/chest)..any ideas on how to get rid of the quest?

This should be everything you need to get your RSE.

I think I did my RSE solo around 42. At this level you can kill all the mobs easily yourself (if you're a decent melee class, anyway) and even get multiple pieces in one time period.

Good luck with RSE, I have to admit it was an awful pain.

Well, if you're still considering the jobs you stated to me when you started playing the game, then your RSE is really not necessary. RSE gear is designed to shore up deficiencies in your stats that your race has by default. For example, the Galka RSE adds a huge pile of MP and CHR. Taru RSE would add a bunch of STR and HP, neither of which would be a big deal to a full-time mage.

From what I've seen, D2 stands for dezone, or something like that. It's the Japanese shorthand for warp 2, so maybe the first letter for the Japanese equivalent begins with a "D" sound.

Frankly I don't know, and I've never heard a definitive answer to your question.

Oh, and the only way to remove a quest from the quest log is to actually complete the quest. Though there has been a few instances where you can cancel a quest (Such as the one in Sandy where you have to find the right female with the right hair. The first one I got, I've never actually seen a Elvaan female with that sort of hair. I went back, the guy let me cancel, and I restarted the quest with a different kind of female to look for.), RSE is not one of them.

If you're high enough level now and feel like getting your money back, go ahead and sell your bought RSE back and do the quest for it.

It was explained to me that D stands for Destination. A D1 being a tele, a D2 being Warp II, and a D3 being that thing you do when you pop on a sexy lvl 1 job and go commit suicide, zoning to HP ^^

2 question.

1) I alway see threads about people saying "High lvl DRG must be a gil farmer" why is this? What about the DRG job makes people think it's good for gil farmering?

2) Why do BLM's hate to be asked for D2?

Thanks!

Not sure on question 1

However in response to #2:
(I speak for myself on this)
The only time I really get angry about giving someone a D2 is if i'm in a party, be it exp/skillup/whatever. Typically I just respond with a simple {I'm sorry, I'm busy now}
However, most people don't seem to understand that this does, in fact, mean that I am busy, and continue to push the issue.
Typically one of 2 things will then happen, I'll offer to warp them for a large amount of gil, or I'll blacklist them.

D2 costs 150 mp, I have ~650 mp total.
Casting this adds to downtime and screws with chains - which is frowned on in most parties

Hope that answers it for you

Yes Varcore I agree with you 100% about not asking a BLM for D2 when they're in a party. Personaly that would **** me off, but I was chatting with friends the other day and it was brought up about how people think BLM are only good for D2. And to never ask a BLM for D2 period. I may have took this wrong but I was hopeing to get some feedback on this.

Sorry if I'm opening a can of worms.

My guess for gil farmer to choose DRG is for Penta Thrust. Penta Thrust is fairly easy to get comparing to Guilletine. Also DRG equipment is more affordable compare to other melee style farmining-capable jobs. Wyvern are great against Too Weaks and might mess up other competing farmer's targeting system.

Thanks Emilyia! I wouldn't be suprised if the reasons you gave were correct. I think the Wyvern ******** up other people's targeting would give the gil farmers the advantage. And yes the equipment is pretty cheap. Those are some good thoughts thank you!

Not at all, honest question.

As I mentioned, I can only speak for myself on this, everyone is different in how they feel. If I'm not busy, I'm almost always happy to give a d2 (and even more willing if there is gil involved). However there are always moments when I'm not in the mood to or I'm busy.
I certainly wouldn't say Don't ask. By all means, do ask, the worst you should get from one is a no thank, I'm busy, etc... just don't pester them about it, respect their decision.
If someone blows up at you for asking for a D2 once in a while they have some serious issues. I don't really see much difference between asking for d2 and asking for a teleport.

This is a question about Allakhazam that i have been wondering for some time now...

What do the stars underneath some people's names mean?

I myself have one star, and I have NO idea how I got it, or if I did something special to get it.

Can anyone enlighten me on this please? It is not mentioned in the FAQ section of the site.

Here is another one:

What does 'wc' mean? People seem to use it when they go afk. Is there a literal translation? I notice it is often used by Japanese players, but wasn't totally sure about it since it is always typed in roman characters.

HA! That makes much more sense now.

I was getting the impression that it was the equivalent to 'bio', but just couldn't get it through my head what it meant. Silly American language messing up my objectivity.

WC seems to be of more use in Europe. When I took French in highschool that's when I first learn the term.

Also when the Japanese goes WW or W its stands for Warau, their term for LOL.

I agreed with Emylia on why gil farmer chose dragoon as their prefer job. Dragoon gets their damage dealing toy much earlier than the rest of the jobs and can comfortably solo farm from then on. Wyvern mess up targetting especially with the new trick now of wedging the wyvern in between mining points and the miner to steal points. Also dragoon/whm make for a potent solo combo, at least in Delfuk and Zitah any how.

BTW I was soloing worms in Cocacola Tunnel as sam when I saw 4 dragoons being Power level by a whitemage. They couldn't be more than level 21. Next day I was walking around Altep and there was a party of the same 4 dragoons being PL by the same whm, except they are now over 30. So look like as Prettyboy and the mimis move out of zitah and Delfuk there will be others to take their place. Elvan dragoons are a popular choice amongst farmers I guessed.

What's this "static party" that everyone seems to be asking for on the server forum? Intuition tells me it's a request for a permanent group of people with which to team up and fight after reaching a certain level; am I right?

yup you're right. The major positives to this is you are able to go party in non-traditional areas and you get to know the fighting techniques of the others in your party quite well, which helps for gaining quicker experience.
